Mexico, 25 clicks from Las Almas

The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a warm, golden hue over the vast expanse of the Mexican landscape. The hills stood as silent sentinels against the backdrop of the evening sky. As you and Price disembarked from the plane, the heat of Mexico embraced you, a stark contrast to the familiar chill of your previous missions. The sprawling base unfolded before you, a complex of buildings and facilities nestled amid the arid terrain. The air resonated with a sense of mystery, echoing the clandestine nature of the operations that went on. Another plane touched down in the adjacent hangar, its engines winding down as the metallic echoes reverberated through the surroundings.

Two men, appearing to be of Hispanic descent, walked up to you and Price. "Price, good to have you back," one of them greeted, extending a hand for a firm shake. The other, a more solemn expression on his face, added, "Our condolences for Roach and Yuri." Price reciprocated the handshake with a firm grip, acknowledging the men. "Thank you, Rodolfo. It's been a rough time for the team," You, standing alongside Price, observed the exchange, sensing the mutual respect that permeated the air. The men then shifted their attention to you. "And you must be Y/N," one said with a welcoming smile. "Serpent sir." You said in a respectful tone. "It's good to meet you finally Serpent. Price told us a lot about you."

You nodded, returning the friendly gesture. "Likewise. I'm excited to be here." The surroundings of the Mexican base, coupled with the warm welcome, stirred a mix of anticipation and curiosity within you. "I'm Colonel Alejandro Vargas," the man introduced himself with a firm handshake, "and this is Sergeant Major Rodolfo Parra. Welcome to the Los Vaqueros base. We've got a building reserved for the task force, all set for the new arrivals." You nodded appreciatively. "Thank you, Colonel. Looking forward to settling in and getting started."

Colonel Vargas smiled and put a hand on your shoulder. "No need for that formal stuff, hermana. Just call me Alejandro. We're all on the same team here." You nodded and smiled as a pilot and a man in a balaclava from the other plane that just landed approached. The pilot exchanged a few words with Price before heading back to the plane. "Hello again, Keegan," Price greeted. "I'd like you to meet Serpent. She's also a new addition to the task force." You looked at Keegan, and there was a certain intensity in his masked gaze, hinting at the mysterious nature of his persona. However, his gaze softened, and he extended his hand. "Keegan Russ, U.S. Marines," he introduced himself. You smiled and shook his hand. "Serpent, Special Air Service, British Army."

"British Army hm? Sound American to me." You chuckled at Keegan's observation. "Born American, raised British. But you know, sometimes when emotions run high, a hint of the accent slips out." Keegan's eyes lingered on you as he replied,  "Well, isn't that a unique blend? I look forward to getting to know you better on our upcoming missions, Serpent." You smiled and took notice of the design on his mask that seemed to be made with white paint. "Likewise." Keegan, with a smirk behind his mask, leaned in slightly, his tone playful. "Serpent, they say every soldier has a hidden talent. What's yours?" You matched his energy with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. "Well, Keegan, that's a secret you might have to uncover during the upcoming missions. I can't reveal all my cards at once, can I?"
