Las Almas

"Come on," Ghost murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. The two of you crouched behind a nearby shop, shadows prowling the area. "We'll go through the shops to get there, alright?" he said softly, turning to you. The streetlight glinted off his stark white skull mask, casting an eerie glow. You nodded in agreement, your heart pounding in your chest. Ghost carefully opened the door to one of the shops, and the two of you slipped inside, moving with utmost caution.
Inside the shop, the air was heavy with tension, and the sound of your footsteps seemed unnaturally loud. Ghost motioned for you to follow him closely as he navigated through the dimly lit aisles, his movements deliberate and calculated. As you moved deeper into the store, you could hear faint sounds of commotion outside, indicating that the shadows were still patrolling the area. You held your breath, trying to remain as silent as possible.
Suddenly, Ghost froze, his hand shooting out to grab your arm and pull you back. Through the shelves, you could see the silhouette of a shadow moving past the entrance of the shop. Ghost pressed a finger to his lips, signaling for you to remain quiet. You stayed still, your heart racing as the shadow passed by without noticing your presence. Once he was out of sight, Ghost motioned for you to continue following him. With every step, you couldn't shake the feeling of being hunted, the danger lurking around every corner. But you trusted Ghost to lead you to safety, and you kept moving forward, determined to make it to the church.
As you and Ghost continued to navigate through the shops and restaurants, the tension in the air grew thicker with each passing moment. You moved in silence, Ghost leading the way with caution as you followed closely behind. At one point, as you entered a narrow alley between two buildings, you spotted a shadow lurking ahead. Ghost immediately gestured for you to stay back as he approached the enemy quietly. With swift and precise movements, he drew his knife and swiftly dispatched the shadow, ensuring it made no sound as it fell.
You held your breath, watching as Ghost moved with deadly efficiency, his movements almost graceful in their precision. Once the threat was neutralized, Ghost motioned for you to continue forward, and you followed suit, feeling a mixture of fear and admiration for his skills. As you made your way through the alley, you came across more shadows patrolling the area. Each encounter was met with the same silent and lethal approach from Ghost, his training evident in every move he made. You followed his lead, doing your best to remain calm and focused despite the danger surrounding you.
As you and Ghost slipped into a nearby bar, the dimly lit interior provided some cover from the shadows outside. However, your respite was short-lived as the sound of heavy footsteps echoed from the entrance. You froze as five shadows entered the bar, their movements deliberate and menacing. Instinctively, you reached out and grabbed Ghost's hand, silently signaling to him the imminent threat. Without a word, Ghost nodded, his expression focused as he scanned the room for a hiding spot. Spotting the cover provided by the bar counter, he gestured for you to follow him.
Crouching low, the two of you moved swiftly behind the bar, taking refuge in the shadows cast by the dim lighting. Your heart pounded in your chest as you pressed yourself against the cool surface of the counter, praying that the shadows wouldn't spot you. As the shadows approached, their figures looming ominously in the darkness, you held your breath, willing yourself to remain unseen. Ghost's hand tightened around yours, offering a silent reassurance in the face of danger. With bated breath, you watched as the shadows passed by, their attention seemingly drawn elsewhere. Relief flooded through you as they moved out of sight, leaving you and Ghost hidden behind the bar counter, safe for the moment.
