With the unsettling encounter with Ghost lingering in your mind, you sought solace in the familiar burn of alcohol. Stepping back into the warmth of the room, the chatter and laughter of your teammates enveloped you, momentarily drowning out the echo of unanswered questions that haunted your thoughts. Heading straight for the alcohol, you reached for the bottle on the table with a sense of urgency, your fingers tightening around the familiar glass. The cool touch of the bottle against your skin offered a fleeting sense of comfort, a reprieve from the unease that gnawed at your insides.

"Hey, Serpent," Keegan's voice was earnest, tinged with a hint of vulnerability that softened the edges of his words. "I'm sorry," he began, his gaze meeting yours with an earnestness that belied the tension between you. "I can't stand it when you ignore me like this." With a deep breath, you let go of the resentment that had taken root and allowed yourself to embrace the possibility of reconciliation. "I appreciate your apology, Keegan," you responded, your voice carrying the weight of your decision. "Let's put this behind us and move forward."

Pouring another shot with practiced precision, you watched as the liquid filled the small glass, amber hues dancing in the dim light of the room. Then, you began pouring a shot for him as well.  The scent of alcohol mingled with the tang of uncertainty that hung heavy in the air, a potent cocktail of emotions swirling within you. With a slight nod, you acknowledged Keegan's presence beside you, a silent understanding passing between you. Raising your glasses in unison, the clink of glass against glass echoed in the room.

"Cheers," Keegan murmured, his voice a gentle reminder of the bond that remained between you despite the tension that had recently hung in the air. "Cheers," you echoed, the word carrying a weight of its own as you met Keegan's gaze. With a shared resolve, you tipped the glasses back simultaneously, the burn of the liquor a bittersweet reminder of the fragile connections that bound you together in uncertain times. As the liquid seared its way down your throat, a sense of warmth spread through your veins, a fleeting moment of comfort amidst the chaos. In that shared moment, the weight of unanswered questions and looming uncertainties faded into the background, replaced by a sense of solidarity forged in the simple act of raising a glass together.

As the music shifted and the bass reverberated through the room, Soap and Alejandro's banter escalated into a lighthearted argument about the music choices. "I'm telling you, this playlist needs some variety," Soap insisted, tapping his foot impatiently. Alejandro chuckled, shaking his head. "Nah, hombre, you gotta feel the rhythm. This song's got the perfect vibe." Soap rolled his eyes but eventually relented with a sigh. "Fine, have it your way." With a mischievous grin, Alejandro took control of the music, selecting a lively Spanish song with a pulsating bassline. The room filled with the infectious energy of the music as the beat took hold of everyone's senses.

Alejandro, emboldened by the rhythm, staggered over to where you sat, his steps unsteady but his smile infectious. "¿Bailas conmigo?" he slurred, extending a hand toward you. A grin tugged at your lips as you glanced around the room, catching the amused glances of your teammates. With a shrug and a laugh, you took Alejandro's hand, allowing him to pull you up from your seat. "¡Claro que sí!" you replied, your voice buoyant with laughter as you let yourself be swept into the impromptu dance. Together, you moved to the pulsating beat, laughter and joy mingling in the air as you spun and swayed in sync with the music.

Alejandro's eyes widened in surprise as he glanced at you, then back to the music playing. "You spoke Spanish this whole time?" he exclaimed, his tone a mix of amusement and disbelief. You chuckled nervously, feeling a bit exposed. "Well, not exactly fluent," you admitted, trying to downplay your language skills. Curiosity sparkled in Alejandro's gaze as he leaned closer. "Where did you learn then?" he inquired. Your response slipped out before you could catch yourself. "Someone on my old base taught me when I was a kid," you confessed, a hint of unease creeping into your voice as you realized you might have said too much.

Alejandro's surprise quickly turned into a playful grin. "Well, color me impressed," he remarked, flashing you a teasing smile before resuming the dance. You couldn't help but smile back, feeling a bit relieved that he didn't press further into the topic. As the music filled the room with its lively rhythm, you let yourself get lost in the moment, enjoying the spontaneous dance with Alejandro despite the lingering unease in the back of your mind.

However, Ghost couldn't shake off the words you let slip. They echoed in his mind, forming a puzzle that seemed to fit too perfectly. The rumors he'd heard about a mysterious child with a shadowy past on the SAS suddenly seemed to converge with the information he had gathered about you. He retreated to a quiet corner of the room, away from the revelry, his mind consumed by thoughts of your revelation. Ghost meticulously pieced together the fragments of information he'd collected about you, connecting them with the stories he'd heard. The more he thought about it, the more certain he became.

In the dim light of the room, Ghost's expression hardened with realization. He had stumbled upon a secret that could change everything. The implications of your true identity sent a chill down his spine, and a sense of urgency washed over him. He knew he had to tread carefully, for he had uncovered a truth that could unravel everything. With a newfound determination, Ghost resolved to delve deeper into the mystery surrounding you. He couldn't afford to let his suspicions go unchecked, not when the safety of the team and the success of their mission hung in the balance. As the night wore on, Ghost silently contemplated his next move, his mind racing with plans and strategies to confront you about your hidden past.
