As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the base, you, Keegan, and Viper made your way back to your building. The sky was painted with hues of orange and pink, signaling the end of another day. As you, Keegan, and Viper entered the building, you found yourselves in the common area where Ghost and Soap were engaged in conversation, leaning against the kitchen counter. The warm glow of the overhead lights cast a cozy ambiance over the room, contrasting with the fading light outside. Ghost and Soap turned their attention to you as you entered, "Where have you guys been?" Soap inquired.

"We went for a walk," you replied casually, exchanging a knowing look with Keegan and Viper. Keegan, ever the one to dive straight into business, followed up with a question about Laswell. Ghost's demeanor shifted slightly as he relayed the latest intel. "AQ is transporting her via convoy. They sent a proof of life video," he explained, his voice carrying a note of determination. "Price says he'll have her back in 12 hours." The gravity of the situation hung in the air, but there was a sense of resolve among the group. With Price on the case, there was hope for Laswell's swift return. Everyone nodded, happy with the revelation.

Soap sauntered over with a mischievous grin, drawing out your name teasingly. "Serpenntttttt," he said, elongating the word. You raised an eyebrow, crossing your arms as you regarded him. "What, Soap?" you asked, a hint of amusement in your tone. "Dinner tonight?" he proposed, his expression hopeful. You sighed, considering the options. "All those leftovers in the fridge, eat them, and I'll make something you want tomorrow," you bargained. Soap shrugged nonchalantly, his grin still intact. "Worth a try," he conceded, turning to head back to his spot.

Viper, intrigued, interjected, "You cook?" You nodded, a modest smile tugging at your lips. "Sometimes." Soap jumped in with a grin. "Way better than you'll get anywhere else," he quipped. You chuckled, shaking your head. "I'm flattered," you replied, acknowledging the compliment. The conversation continued, but you realized Ava was nowhere to be found. "Where's your new friend?" you inquired, casting a playful smirk in Ghost's direction. Ghost looked momentarily puzzled. "Who?" Soap chimed in before you could answer. "She's talking about Ava," he clarified, raising an eyebrow.

Ghost shrugged nonchalantly. "How am I supposed to know?" You shot back with a hint of accusation, "Well, you were the last one with her." Despite your efforts to sound nonchalant, a tinge of anger and jealousy colored your tone. Viper glanced between you and Ghost before interjecting, "We're gonna be upstairs." Before leaving with Keegan. You hummed in response, maintaining eye contact with Ghost. "What are you getting at, Serpent?" Ghost's tone held a hint of curiosity. You shrugged casually. "Nothing, just thought you would know." Soap, seemingly unfazed, went to the fridge and grabbed a cheese stick. With a mischievous grin, he added, "Just fuck already." Both you and Ghost turned to Soap in shock, blurting out in unison, "What?!"

Soap quickly put his hands up in a defensive gesture. "Chill, I was just joking," he said with a sheepish grin, sensing the tension in the room. You scoffed and rolled your eyes at Soap's attempt to defuse the situation. Ghost turned his attention back to you, his expression unreadable. "What did you want earlier?" he asked, his tone neutral. You shot him a pointed look. "Oh, now you wanna know?" you retorted, a hint of sarcasm in your voice. "It was obviously important if you had to barge into my room," Ghost replied, his tone slightly defensive.
