MEGHANS POV
"I have a case!" Cabe shouts, walking into the garage. We have been here for three hours already.
"What's it about?" I ask, struggling to get up. I am now about a week past my due date and have been a bit cranky because of it.
"For gods sake somebody help her." Cabe says. Paige walks over to help me up, her black ankle boots thumping on the floor as she walks. She grabs my hands and helps me up.
"Thanks." I say walking over to the fridge.
"What are you eating?" Walter asks me.
"Sardines." I respond, gagging from the horrible, oily fish.
"Why the hell are you eating sardines?" Happy asks.
"Because they are supposed to induce labor, well eating sardines and doing a head stand and there is no way in hell I'm doing that. Now tell me what this freakin mission is about before I loosing my freakin mind." I reply, getting really annoyed.
"Ok, well the case is about a conflict between Dominican Republic and Mexico, sounds odd, I know, but we have an odd job. Anyway we will have to go to Puerto Rico to help the two different presidents and senators resolve this conflict." Cabe responds, by the time he finishes speaking he's out of breath.
"Why Puerto Rico, if this has nothing to do with them?" Toby asks, confused.
"Because Puerto Rico is right in between them, it's a safe territory, nobody has the home team advantage." I respond, knowingly. I love talking about Puerto Rico.
"When do we leave?" Paige asks Cabe.
"Right now, grab your stuff and head to the van." Cabe instructs. I grab my camouflage backpack and my baby bag, just in case. We throw our stuff in the truck of the van and get in. I sit in the passengers seat, Cabe drives, Walt and Sylvester in the middle seats and Happy, Toby and Paige in the back. It is a little less then an hour drive from the garage to the air port but the time passes quickly because the team would not stop asking me questions about Puerto Rico since they have never been there. Eventually when we get there we get our luggage checked and get onto the plane. It is a 7 hour and 14 minute plane ride from LA to San Juan, Puerto Rico, the plane ride is fine, just long and Sylvester pretty much complains the whole time, while Paige worries about Ralph, Walt does research on the country (Mexico) and Island (Dominican Republic), Toby flirts with Happy, Cabe talks to homeland and I doze off while watching a movie. After the long flight we eventually make it to San Juan. When we get to the town hall, there are already people there, it looks like they just arrived as well. We stand by the entrance and wait for the two presidents to arrive, even though I would much rather be sitting. A women walks up to where we are standing and stands next to me.
"Who are you?" Paige asks her.
"I am the senator to the president of Mexico." She responds giving Paige an unpleasant look and rolling her eyes.
"Oh your Enrique Peña Nieto's senator." I ask, just to be clear.
"Yes, honey, that's what I said." She responds in a rude tone. I bite down on my thumb nail so I don't say anything that will get me into trouble.
"Just ignore her." Toby says, I just nod, trying not to loose my temper. The president walks out of w helicopter followed by a short young man.
"How old is he, like twelve?" I ask, concerned.
"How old are you, like twelve?" The women standing next to me. I am this close to punching her in the freakin face, and I'm not even kidding. Never mess with a pregnant women.
"I advise you to shut up before you say something you will regret." I warn her, she rolls her eyes and runs up to the president to greet him. The president walks right by us without a sideward glance. Soon enough the second president arrives.
"Danilo Medina is here." I inform the team. They direct their attention to the president and try to greet him, he once again, ignores us.
"Friendly aren't they?" Toby says sarcastically.
"Very." I respond walking into the building. A 'green screen' is set up in the middle of the room with one of the presidents in the middle typing away at a computer, even though he is obviously typing random letters.
"Are yo sure this is going to work?" Paige asks, nervously.
"Don't worry the governments for it under control." Cabe responds.
"Yeah, because whenever the government tries to keep a secrect, it always turns out well." Toby says sarcastically.
"Yeah, like in 1947 when the government tried to hide the whole Roswell 'incident', that turned out perfectly." I agree sarcastically.
"You weren't even alive in 1947." Cabe says to me.
"We're you even alive yet?" I ask Cabe. Walter ignores our bickering and walks over to the president.
"What are you typing?" Walter asks Enrique Peña Nieto, the Mexican President.
"¿qué estás mecanografía?" I translate.
"Nada." He responds, his accent thick.
"Well we need this to be believable, a 3 year old with a remote control can slow this video down and see that you are not typing anything. Now let's keep this professional and type something real." Walter says, obviously annoyed. The president looks confused at Walter.
"He didn't understand you Walt." Happy tells him.
"Then help me out." Walter says to the senator. She bites her lip.
"Are you kidding me? You are the senator of Mexico, how the hell can you not speak Spanish?" I ask her, she doesn't respond, her cheeks turning w bright shade of red.
"Move the camera up two inches." I instruct the man holding the camera.
"Presidente continuar lo que está haciendo." I tell the president.
"You welcome, I just did your job for you." I say to the senator, smirking. She glares at me and rolls her eyes again.
"Well I understand that since you are a Mexican you can communicate with your people." She responds smirking cockily and walking away. This is where I finally snap. I run over to her and Sly and Walt hold me back, they (gently) push me into a chair.
"I'm going to kill her, I'm going to fucking kill her." I rant, angrily.
"You have to stay calm, ignore her." Walt says.
"No Walt, because us Hispanics do not like being called Mexican when we are Puerto Rico or being told somebody only understood us because they are 'our people' especially when it is not the correct nationality." I respond, pissed off.
"Walter you have to understand that we aren't in second grade, what she said was incredibly racist. I agree that she should stay calm, but it's going to be difficult to ignore her. She is purposefully trying to get under her skin." Paige says to Walter, it's like they are parents, and I think Toby is enjoying this exchange, it sure looks that way by the smirk on his face.
"Ok here's some better advice, show her how to do her job right." Walter suggests. I think this through a few times, then nod. I walk over to the conference table with everybody, when something we didn't expect happen, happens.
