Chapter 80: I love you

MEGHANS POV
"A worker, somebody who worked the cameras at the bank, that's why they were never caught on camera because they turned them off." Cabe informs us.
"Not really a plot twist than I guess." Toby responds.
"Thank you for your input Toby." Happy replies, rolling her eyes.
"Somebody's grumpy."
"No kidding Toby! Shawn's in the hospital because of me!"
"It's not your fault, Happy."
"I know, I guess I'm just kind of worried for Meg."
"Nothing to worry about, Happy." I smile at her and she takes my hand, smiling back. We wait in the waiting area for almost three hours. I start to worry a little bit because Paige said it should be around two hours. Happy stands up to go and get something from the vending machine with Toby, Walter gets up and Cabe follows and Paige gets up and sits next to me where Happy was sitting.
"He's going to be okay." She says leaning towards me.
"How did you know?"
"That you are worried? I could tell, I've known you for two years now, you pick up on things." She responds, smiling, her eyes twinkling.
"Thanks, Paige." I pause for a second.
"How are you doing? You know with everything." I ask, referring to her pregnancy.
"I'm good, I'm happy and so is Walter, and so is Ralph. I'm definitely a lot bigger then i was with Ralph."
"Really?"
"Yeah he was a very small baby at five months, he did grow though." She says, smiling.
"Oh speaking of which the baby sitter is dropping him off soon."
"That's great, I can't wait to see him!"
"He can't wait to see you either." I smile and look at Max, he is sound asleep. Walter and Cabe come back with coffee and hands them out to everyone. Just after they come back Ralph comes running in with his babysitter not far behind. Paige stands up and thanks the babysitter and she gives Paige Ralph's backpack.
"Hi Ralph!" I say, enthusiastically. He gives me a hug.
"Hi Meghan!"
"How was school?"
"It was good, I got to have a free period because I did all my math homework for the week."
"That's great, bud." I smile and mess up his hair. Ralph smiles and then goes over to Paige and gives her a big hug and tells her and Walter about his day. They look like a big happy family and it is the cutest thing. Soon Megan joins us from the physical therapy wing. She sits down next to Sylvester and kisses him on the cheek. About a half an hour later a female nurse with like hair and dark eyes comes out with a clip board.
"Meghan Jacobs?" I bolt up out of my seat.
"That's me." I respond, a little too enthusiastically.
"The surgery went well, you can see him now, he is a little groggy but stable and ready to see you."
"Thank you." I reply, smiling. I look back at the team who are all smiling, Happy mouths 'I got it' referring to Max and I nod a thank you to her in response. I follow the nurse into the room and see Shawn sitting up in the hospital bed.
"Shawn." I whisper, in case he has a headache.
"Meghan." He says, weakly. I run over to him and hug him gently, trying not to hurt him.
"I love you." He says, looking me in the eyes.
"Shawn, I love you too." I hug him again.
"That was an amazing thing you did Shawn." He smiles at me.
"I have a surprise for you." I hand him a small but long box.
"What is this for?" He asks, confused.
"Think of it as an early Christmas present." He furrows his eyebrows and smiles, looking down at the box. He opens it and inside is a positive pregnancy test. He looks at it, then at me, then at the test again.
"Really?"
"Yes, really." He looks me in the eyes for a long time and then takes my face and kisses me passionately.
"I love you so much, I promise I will be there this time." I nod, with tears in my eyes.
"I love you too, you better be." I reply, jokingly. He laughs and then the rest of the team and Megan walk to the door frame.
"Can we come in?" Paige asks, cautiously.
"Yes, of course." Shawn responds. They all walk in and take seats around Shawn's bed. I lean over and whisper in his ear.
"Let's find a fun way to tell them." He nods in response, smiling a little, trying not to give it away.
"How are you doing, Shawn?" Happy asks him, sympathetically.
"I'm okay, I'm really okay." He replies, looking at me.
"That's good." Happy says, looking at the both of us. She is the only other person who knows our little secret.
"I'm not cleared to leave for a couple days, but I should be home for Christmas." Shawn speaks up.
"That's great, Shawn." Paige responds, happily. We talk for a few minutes and then the same nurse walks in to the room.
"I'm so sorry but visiting hours are over. You can come back tomorrow anytime from 8am- 1am." We all nod and go to leave, I kiss Michael and he waves goodbye to us. Happy hands me Maxwell and I take him into my arms. We all get into the van and Cabe decides to leave his car here over night. Everybody falls asleep on the ride home, snuggled up together. When we get back to the garage, Happy and Toby leave to pick up Jesse from Happys dads place. Paige and Ralph decide to stay at the garage with Walter, but first Walter drives Megan and Sylvester to Slys place, Cabe drives himself home and lastly I drive to Shawn and I's place with Maxwell. I put him to sleep and sit on the coach. happy to be home and to here that Shawn will be home soon too, I look down at my belly and smile, a new member to the family will be here soon. I lay down and close my eyes. Then I here the phone ring.
