Reeve's POV

.

"I want you to help Melissa, Atty Lucius, and don't make it too obvious that it's coming from me," I took a sip of wine in hand, and Lucius laughed.

"And you think she will believe that?" his brow furrowed, "A long time ago, the Greens were clever, and you couldn't easily fool them, especially the old man. That's what happened to why the De Matris are so mad with him. But now the tables have turned, and Melissa is the one who pays for everything."

I gritted my teeth, and my heart throbbed. Damn them!

Atty Meliodas Lucius is a good friend of mine. I crossed paths with him when I went to Greece for a mission. That was Diezel's mission, supposed, but I covered him up, and that's how I met this person.

"Frank De Matris is hard as stone when it comes to money, Reeve. . . I understand why Melissa has to do a lot of extra. That bastard will count even a single cent if he needs to," he smirked.

"That's why I need you to help her, Meliodas," I looked at him seriously, and he smiled.

"Do you really trust me that much, Reeve?" The wicked smile he gave me indicated that I was dealing with a devil right now. "This will cost your life, you know. Does Linus know about this?"

I chuckled. "Will I go to you if my brother knows?" I hissed and shook my head.

"Oh, yeah, my bad. I forgot," he chuckled and drank his wine.

I looked away and diverted my eyes around the place. The bar seems fancy, and the people around here are weird. Only a member can get inside this bar, which means that Meliodas is one of them.

"Do you want to start a damn decent business? I can help you with that," I offered. This place is hidden somewhere around New York. It has a coding that only the highly proficient kind can enter.

"Come on, Reeve, you already know the answer to that," he slightly laughed. "Okay, I will do what you want, but I can't promise anything when it comes to your brother, okay? Not to mention, Bryce will be here soon, and I know that he has a hint of knowing why you are here to see me."

My jaw tightened. "I have to go, Meliodas."

"That's a good decision. I will keep in touch."

"Okay."

I felt better, and a breeze of fresh air calmed my senses the moment I got out. I don't really like that place.

"That's a good decision, Reeve. Learn to distance yourself from Melissa for the time being."Tapik ni Morris sa balikat ko.

"I bet you went to Meliodas, right? That damn devil Atty," Diezel snorted. His eyes turn dark.

"Do you really hate him that much, Dez?" Morris asked.

"Hmm, not really. Pero hindi ko gusto ang pamamaraan niya sa lahat."

"Hayaan mo na, para namang hindi mo pinsan ang demonyong iyon." Bahagyang tawa ni Morris.

"He is not my cousin, okay? I have no other cousins except the Mondragons," Diezel corrected.

"Okay, okay, point taken." Natahimik silang pareho at seryosong tinitigan ako.
