Thirty Two

|Demetri's POV|

I'm flipping through Talon's baby book, from when he was still inside RJ to his third birthday where RJ made another scrap book of Talon from age three to age five. She has all these scrapbooks of memories, I missed so much.

"Whatcha looking at?" Felix comes in holding Joanna who has been running around, needing to be kept a closer eye on luckily the place is baby proofed and all the breakable items have been put away.

"Talon's baby book" he sits down next to me as he looks at the photo of Talon's ultrasound photo and then RJ as she took a photo of herself and how she looked at twelve weeks pregnant "because of Heidi" snarling Heidi's name "I missed so much" I should have known it was Heidi's doing. How relentless she was, how jealous she could be. I should have known "I knew Heidi"

"Don't be too hard on yourself" Felix tries to comfort me but it doesn't work. I missed the birth of my son, I missed the pain RJ was going through that I could have helped, Talon's first words, first steps, his first smile...everything "I think RJ's family did something to you"

Looking at him confused "What do you mean?"

"Apparently Heidi got Chelsea to use her gift on you" What?! I made it clear to Chelsea to never use her gift to try to influence my feelings for Heidi or any woman "it didn't work and Chelsea didn't understand why, but I think given who your in laws were..."

"What I don't understand is why they didn't interfere" shaking my head "if they saw the pain we both were going through"

"Have you heard of God's plan?" He asks "I'm not going to interfere with that and I'm guessing neither was his children"

Shaking my head still angry "Still..." flipping through the pages and stop on the photo the nurse or someone took of RJ holding Talon after he was born "after the twins RJ doesn't want anymore children"

"Do you?" He asks "want any or in this case anymore?"

"Yes" looking at Felix "Talon sees me as Demetri one of his buddies, he doesn't see me as his dad. He goes to Heaven to talk to that John" sneering his name "CeCe hates me, she thinks I'm trying to replace her father but I'm not, Joanna" looking at Joanna who is getting her toy keychain all slobbered "she and the twins are like her siblings, they will probably go up to Heaven to see John and see him as their father. To them I'm not their father, I never will be"

"You don't know that" he looks at Joanna "have you talked to your mate about this?"

"She's birthed three kids already" I say "she's going to birth two more, she most likely won't want to talk about it—I know she is slowly trusting me but what Heidi did left a deep mark" my eyes find a photo of my mate with John smiling "how can I compete with him? I don't even see the scrapbook of the time she spent in Italy, she probably burned it"

"Or she has it somewhere around here" he suggests

We hear the door open and two heartbeats, looking over Talon and CeCe come in "How's school?" Hearing fast paw prints, we see Boogeyman appear before the kids and they greet him smiling.

Felix nudges my shoulder and I have a confused look "Talon?" He looks our way "We're looking for a scrapbook, yet it's not here"

"Really?" CeCe comes over jumping onto the couch between me and Felix opening one, she smiles "Look" she points to RJ in a bikini "this is me, I'm in mommy"

"Yeah" nodding my head "Your mommy looks beautiful"

Talon frowns "Should be around here" Talon looks through the scrapbooks before looking up the stairs, he leaves and after a few minutes a familiar looking scrapbook appears "found it, it was hidden in mom's closet"

"Ooh!" CeCe puts the one scrapbook aside then grabs the other from her brother "It's so pretty!" She reads the word Italy I "Why does it say Italy I?" Because it's the first time she's going to be in Italy. Opening it, she finds her mom. A younger version smiling brightly, she then finds a page where their mom and I are kissing. CeCe gasps looking at me "You kissed my mommy!"

"This was years ago" I tell her "before you were born"

CeCe narrows her eyes on me and Talon tugged on her braid "Ow!" She looks at Talon "that hurt!"

"Quit" Talon growls "being a little bitch"

"Talon" warning him as CeCe leaves crying "that wasn't alright"

"It's not alright how she has been acting towards you" we hear the door slam close "mom told her"

"She's a child" I remind him "she can't help how she feels, right now I'm an intruder in her mind. Hopefully how she feels will change over time but right now how she's acting is her way of expressing her feelings. You need to apologize to her"

"I'm not apologizing" he scoffs

"Apologize" repeating myself "now"

"You can't tell me what to do" he sprouts his black and red ombre colored wings flying up to the second story "you're not my dad, you can't tell me what to do!" Mt heart breaks as he yells this before slamming the door closed.

Deflating as I lean forward, Felix has his hand on my shoulder "Da" looking over Joanna holds her arms out, taking her into my arms she kisses my cheek before closing her eyes wrapping her tiny arms around my neck as she stood on my lap "Da"

"You will apologize to your sister!" RJ yells at Talon, I'm feeding Joanna her night snack. RJ came home and Felix blabbed to her everything, now she is giving Talon a new one. Felix is with CeCe watching tv in the living room "I don't care how angry you are with her, you will never call your sister a bitch under this roof!"

"But she's been acting like one!" Talon yells "it's not right!"

"And I will talk to her" RJ promised "but you will apologize, you will also apologize to Demetri because you never talk to your elder like that!"

"Dad"

"Your dad" RJ cuts him off "would agree with me right now, to both how you spoke to your sister and how you spoke to Demetri, now go apologize" we hear foot stomps and Talon appears with RJ behind him.

"I'm sorry" he apologizes "for being disrespectful"

"Thank you" I thank and he leaves, I follow beside RJ.

"Something you want to say?" CeCe asks smugly

"Talon" RJ warns as Talon growls

He looks at his sister through clenched teeth "I'm sorry"

CeCe cups her ear "What?!"

I grab Talon just as he launched himself at his sister "CeCe" RJ scolds "Talon to your too now" CeCe is smiling brightly "Oh don't think your not being punished" CeCe looks confused.

"What did I do?" She asks

"Talon was right" RJ says "your temper tantrums all the time about Demetri and how you've been acting is unacceptable so, until further notice you and Talon are on lockdown" CeCe gasps as Talon looks at his mom fearful. What's lockdown?

"Mom" Talon pleads "there's a sleep over"

"Lockdown" RJ looks between the two "the both of you, until I say otherwise" looking at me and Felix "keep an eye on them" she goes up to their room.

"What's lockdown?" Felix asks as the kids glare at one another.

"Mom and dad got the idea" Talon says "from the TV show Stuck in the Middle, lockdown is where everything is taken away and you are in your room doing nothing but just staring at the ceiling. We can't use our electronics unless it's for school"

"Does this mean we can't see dad?" CeCe asks

Talon snaps "It's your fault we're on lockdown! Of course we're not allowed to go to Heaven!"
