"So" a dad asks me. He has sand colored skin, brown eyes and cropped brown hair "your CeCe's father? I'm George Jergins, Ashley's dad. Our daughter's are friends" I'm here at this father daughter dance and apparently it's for daughter's of all ages so I'm here with CeCe, Joanna and Ana. "And is this CeCe's little sister?" He asks looking at Ana who hides her face in my leg "shy? "This is Ana" introducing the two "her other sister Joanna is over there failing to hide the fact that she and a few other kids are eating all the brownies. I have another daughter at home but she's too young"
"Four daughters?" He asks shaking his head "I don't think I can handle the two I've got, oh this is Lauren's dad Ken and Maddison's dad Morgan—guys this is Demetri, he's CeCe's dad and her little sister Ana"
We shake hands "Nice to meet you"
"So Demetri" Ken asks "what is it you do? I'm a therapist, George is a salesman and Morgan is a businessman"
"Before I was a trauma surgeon at a teaching hospital" I tell them "now I'm a stay at home dad raising eleven children"
Morgan coughs on his drink "Eleven?!"
"Not all mine" assuring them as they stared at me "my wife and I have six children, my wife's friend's three children, then her friend's one child and my brother and his wife's one child. Before you ask there's about sixteen people living under one roof with six animals, three cats and three dogs"
"Plus Bunny" Ana adds
"And Bunny" nodding my head "Bunny is out pet bunny"
"That is a lot of people" George shakes his head
"It's a very long story" shaking my head as CeCe comes over.
CeCe asks me "do you want to dance?"
"If a certain monkey removes herself" looking down at Ana who is sitting down holding both legs "from my legs"
"Daddy don't go" she begs
"I've got her" Joanna takes Ana whispering something, I go to the dance floor with CeCe as other dad's go to a slow dance song.
"I went up to heaven" CeCe breaks the silence between us "and my dad will always be my dad but..."
