Twenty Nine

I find John on the beach, I decided to fly up to Heaven. No one knows I came up here. After Demetri came back into my life, I told him I needed to go to work but it was a lie. I'm here in Heaven. "Is this" he looks my way "everything you imagined?"

"RJ" he smiles

"Where's Helen?" I ask. He looks to the beach house, I see his wife Helen and Daisy. Daisy barks running towards us, kneeling down I scratch her behind her ear as she licks me "Hi Daisy" seeing Helen come over, she has long brown hair with warm ivory skin and brown eyes "you must be Helen"

"Hello RJ" she smiles "thank you for helping John love again"

"Thank you for showing John there was more to life than killing" thanking her, looking over to John who looks between us "you told me"

"I saw" he cuts me off "I asked your Aunt Gabby and she told me what happened all those years ago, so I kept an eye on you both. It's okay RJ for you to love again, you deserve happiness"

"I knew about your cancer" I tell him "I was just waiting for you to tell me"

"I told you" Helen looks at John "RJ? I made some lunch, come join us. I would love to get to know you"

"Me too" looping my arm through hers, I can sense John staring at the both of us. He probably thought this was going to be awkward.

"Mom?" Talon asks when I take him out for ice cream "What's going on?" I told Demetri that I needed to talk Talon first, that talking to him was more important at the moment "Why did you call me in sick from school?"

"Do you remember how I told you" asking him as we sat down on a bench, eating our ice cream from Dairy Queen "your birth father lives in Italy? That he doesn't know you exist?"

He nods his head "Yeah, you told me how I look like him too. With my hair and smile"

Nodding my head "Yeah..."

"Why?" He asks

Looking to him "Baby" brushing his hair with my hand "Your birth father's name is Demetri" he stares at me continuing to ear his ice cream "he recently found out about you"

He stops eating his ice cream now "He...how?"

"For a decade" I'm not going to lie to him, not now. He doesn't deserve that "he has been looking for me, he found out about you through his coven member"

"Coven member?" He repeats

Nodding my head "Baby? Do you remember what I told you? About other beings existing besides witches?" I know Demetri is here, he's watching us.

"Yeah" he nods his head

"Your biological father is a vampire" he stares at me "it's why you like to drink blood every now and then, it's why your heart beats faster than most people. Baby...know that your dad will always be your dad, but Demetri wants to meet you. Be apart of your life"

"I thought vampires can't procreate?" He asks "sexually" when he went up to heaven, John gave him the sex talk "that"

"It's why the day I found out about you, I would have asked for a paternity test" I say "but out of anger, betrayal and many other emotions I left. I thought he lied to me about being married"

"He's here isn't he?" He asks

"How do you always know that?" I ask

Shrugging his shoulders "I don't know, it's like this golden thread appears and I find things easily"

"Do you want to meet him?" I ask

Talon is silent before nodding his head "Yeah, I'm curious. I know dad will always be my dad, but if this guy wants to know me then I could give him the benefit of the doubt"

"I love you baby" pulling him to my arms "I love you so much" looking over, Demetri walks towards us "Talon" he looks over as Demetri is before us "Talon this is your birth father Demetri, Demetri this is Talon"

The two stare at one another "Hello" Talon greets

"I'll give you two some time" leaving the two of them, I walk over to the railing looking out to the Pacific Ocean. Talon and Demetri are staring at one another awkwardly talking.

"Who" I see Marcus, John's old friend come up beside me "is that with your son?"

"His birth father" I say "John once told me that Talon deserves the right to know Demetri, know if Demetri wanted to meet him and that Demetri deserves to know Talon"

"How are they holding up?" He asks "you?"

"I know John's happy" looking over at Marcus "the kids are...they miss him"

"Heard about the shooting" he says "you kill the shooter?"

"Ripped his heart out" he chuckles "people at work are scared of me now"

He nods his head, we are silent before Marcus says "John would want you to be happy, don't forget that" he leaves then, I watch as Talon and Demetri talk. I smile looking at the scene before me.

"First off American Muscle is awesome!" Talon exclaims, they are talking about cars.

"They seem to be bonding" Felix appears beside me

Nodding my head yes "They are...I'm worried how my daughter CeCe will handle this" she wanted to know why we couldn't move to Heaven, to live with John and Helen. Be a family up there.

"She will most likely be upset at first" Felix says "but over time, when she sees how Demetri makes you feel she'll accept him. Heidi and Demetri were only fuck buddies, that's it. Heidi wanted more but Demetri told her he didn't want commitment. Then you came along and she grew jealous and bitter"

"What will happen to her?" I want to destroy her

"Two of our coven members" he tells me "Jane and Alec, they are using their abilities on her. What she did was unacceptable and broke a serious law" good, she needs to feel pain.
