Twenty Eight

"Thanks for watching the kids" thanking April as I head to my cousin's house, it's been a few days since she returned home from Italy with Edward. Uncle Charlie is hating every minute of it, he wishes John was alive so Edward would be killed but no.

"Yeah" nodding her head "I love kids, they are so adorable" looking at the kids as they are on the couch "anything I need to know?"

"Their bedtime is eight" it's almost seven right now "and the latest they can be up is nine, read one story to CeCe. She'll give you the story she's currently reading and Talon you need to make sure he isn't playing my any video games. I have this drawer in my room where all the kids electronics go in, the key is on the top dresser with a note. It shouldn't be that hard. There's breast milk in the fridge along with baby food in the pantry for Joanna, she likes being fed with the purple spoon. I don't know why, she just does"

She nods her head "Okay, where are you going?"

"My cousin won't stop bothering me" Bella keeps calling even though I told her to loose my number, apparently it's important "I'll be back around midnight. I have a guest room for you to stay in, it's upstairs to the left of the stairs first door on the right"

"Thanks" she smiles "have fun" Nodding my head, I go to my car in the garage then leave. Why the hell does Bella want to see me? I made it very clear that she should loose my number.

After a couple hours, I'm before the Cullen house. Taking a breather, why do I feel nervous? I don't normally get this nervous, the last time I was this nervous was on my first date with John.

Getting out of the car, I smooth out my short pink floral dress. I'm wearing light pink heels with some makeup on. Why I got myself so dressed up? I don't know.

Going over to the door, my heels clicking against the stone. Carlisle opens the door and I'm silent as I stare at him "Hello RJ" he greets, my face is blank "my condolences for your husband"

Scoffing at that "Why did Bella call me multiple times? I made it very clear for her to loose my number"

"There's someone here" he says "who wanted to see you" narrowing my eyes on him "Demetri"

My eyes widen looking to the house then to him "No" shaking my head no "I won't have him breaking my heart again!" Turning around to leave only to stop, my eyes connect with the one person who I didn't think I'd see again. But he isn't a person, he's a vampire. I mean his red eyes are evident along with his pale white skin. How didn't I know this sooner? But he looks different, more tired.

"RJ" he takes a tel towards me but I take one back, he looks confused "RJ"

"Why the hell are you here?" Demanding from him, crossing my arms "Was your wife not enough for you? Could you not"

"What wife?" He demands "Is that why you left Italy? RJ? Were you raped?"

"Raped?!" Shaking my head no "Who gave you that crazy idea?!"

"Because everyone said you came back to America pregnant!" He yells "I want to know"

"You got me pregnant!" Yelling at him, he's silent as I yelled at him "You broke my heart when your wife Heidi showed up! You broke my heart! I never went back to Italy because of you!" I go to my car but when I feel his presence, turning around Demetri takes my keys from me "Give me"

"What do you mean wife?" He demands "What do you mean I got you pregnant?"

"No one raped me" shaking my head no "If that was the case I wouldn't have fucked around so much after getting home"

"What?" He demands, I go to grab my keys but he stops me "No! I want to know!"

Pulling out my phone, pulling up an image of Talon "This is Talon" he takes my phone looking at it "You were the only man I was with, the day I found out I was pregnant your wife Heidi appeared and told me that you couldn't have kids. That she knew I was pregnant but I'm guessing she's a vampire so she heard his heartbeat" taking my phone from him "I knew you told me that you couldn't have kids so I was going to talk to you about getting a paternity test, that maybe whatever fertility clinic you went to mixed up but I see that wasn't true. Your a vampire and"

"Heidi spoke to you?" His eyes are black, his voice filled with rage even though it's in a calm tone.

Nodding my head yes "I left Italy that day, changed my last name to Morningstar so you wouldn't find me" tears are running down my face now "give me my keys"

"No!" He screams at me "I have been looking for you for a decade! Heidi and I have never been married! Your the only woman I've ever loved" shaking my head, he takes my face with his hands having me look at him "I love you Ruby" that's my first name, I normally go by RJ since there was already an RJ in my class growing up so RJ was simpler. I can't remember the last time anyone has called me Ruby besides Demetri.

He leaned down pressing his lips to mine, his lips against mine are electric. Every time I kiss him, I end up melting against him. My kisses with John were different, yes I loved him and loved the way we were together but not all the kisses with John were soul melting. With Demetri they were, I always forgot about the world when we kissed. That happened a handful of times with John.

Pulling away from him "I...I..." Demetri wipes away my tears "My husband hasn't even been dead two months...I...I also don't have any trust in you Demetri"

"Then let me gain your trust" he begs "please, a coven member of mine who you've met before can confirm what I was saying"

"Hello Felix" sensing his presence

Looking over to him when I turned around "Hello RJ" tilting his head "you knew who I was the entire time, didn't you? That's why you kept yourself distance and on high alert"

Demetri wraps his arms around me holding me close "I love you RJ, I have been looking for you for years. I'm not going to let you get away, not again. I'll search to the ends of the earth for you" putting his head in my neck, tears run down my face as I fall to my knees grabbing his arms. What do I do? What do I do?
