Forty Two

|Ruby's POV|

"So she's still going to go to school?" Demetri asks me as I'm making dinner for me and Talon, when Talon got home yesterday I told him what happened and he started to yell about how I'm her mom and that I have to make her listen. I can't make CeCe listen if she doesn't want to. Talon even knows this, he's just angry right now. I don't blame him.

"Uncle A will take her" nodding my head yes "but other than school, she isn't coming back..." my voice cracks as I stop chopping carrots.

"I'm so sorry" Demetri apologizes to me

"You" shaking my head no "have nothing to be sorry for, CeCe loves her father" laughing bitterly "you know in custody battles, children always choose between parents and who they want to live with...I just didn't realize that would ever happen to me" setting the knife aside as I cry.

Demetri holds me as I cried again, Uncle A suggested that she finish her school year and after that I start home schooling her. I'll do that. With his ability to slow down time, he can pick her up and drop her off without any problems.

The twins begin to cry "I'll finish dinner" Demetri rubs my back "they're hungry" going up to the twins room, looking over at CeCe's room for a moment before going into my room where the twins are sleeping. Carefully picking them up, I start to feed them at the same time. I just have to hold them carefully as I feed them.

After thirty minutes, I burp each twin then put them in the bassinet. Staring at them, what if Joanna or one of the twins decides to leave and want to be with John? What happens then? What if they end up hating me like CeCe does?

There's a light knock on the door, Talon comes over "I'm sorry mom" he hugs me, hugging him back "I was angry and"

"I know" nodding my head as I hugged my sweet baby boy "I know...did your dad finish making dinner?" He nods his head "go down, I'll be down in a bit" leaving me and my thoughts, I come to the conclusion that I can't have any reminders of her here.

Heading down to the basement, I have an empty bin down there. When I have the bin, going upstairs to the foyer first. I take all the photos of CeCe and put them in here before going over to the living room, I have everything in duplicate and triplicate for scrapbooks. Which reminds me to put the scrapbooks of her in here.

Going into the kitchen, I feel Demetri's and Talon's eyes on me "Mom?" Talon asks "What are you doing?"

"Making sure your sister no longer has a presence here"  leaving the place going up to CeCe's room, I start to throw different things of CeCe's into the bin. I'll donate her clothes to goodwill, she has clothes and stuff up in Heaven.

"Ruby" Demetri calls my name a few times

"What?!" Snapping as I turned to look at my soulmate, he looks at me worried "Don't look at me like that"

"Is this what you did with me?" He asks "to help with the pain?"

Tears fall down my face "It's basically all in Heaven" I tell him "no reason to keep any of it"

"She'll come back" he promised

Shaking my head no "CeCe made her choice, I have to let go" he takes a step towards me "let me do this!" Sitting down on the floor, I cover my face crying.

"I'll always be here" Demetri tells me

|Demetri's POV|

"What are you doing?" Stopping Talon as he started a fire outside. Ruby is inside sleeping and when I smelled the gasoline, I came out here immediately to find Talon with all of CeCe's things.

"I heard what mom said" Talon crossed his arms "CeCe won't be needing any of this, she has everything she needs in Heaven"

"I understand that your angry" taking away one of the scrap books "but your mother worked hard on these scrapbooks, one day she will want to see them again and if she finds out you destroyed them then she will be very angry with you"

"I hate her" Talon was about to throw something else but I stop him then put out the fire with water "I hate CeCe"

"You're angry at her" he has his arms crossed "big difference, you throwing away her stuff isn't going to help anyone. Instead you're going to hurt your mother more, whatever she decides to do with your sister's things it's her decision not yours. Where did you go the other day?"

"What?" He asks

"I know you went to Heaven" I say "was it to see John or yell at your sister?"

"I didn't yell at her" staring at him, what did he do? "I punched her"

My eyes widen "Talon" growling at him "never hit your sister, no matter how angry you are with her you don't hit her"

"She's been a brat since you arrived!" He waves to inside "mom is a mess and I sure as hell know that Joanna and the twins will one day want to know why she is such a brat!"

"That does not excuse you from hitting your sister" he growls and I growl back louder silencing his growl "you're grounded, for a month" is that too long? Or too short? "Here and school, those are the only places you're allowed to go and no electronics unless it's for school and it will be monitored"

"I hate you!" He goes inside, shaking my head I grab CeCe's things bringing them inside.
