"Aisha! Aisha, mama!"
"What do you mean, Karl? Tell me!" Miski si August ay mababakasan ng takot sa mukha dahil sa reaksyon ng mga bata.
"She's vomiting blood again, and she's so pale!" Kyle sobbed.
They quickly ran toward the second floor where Aisha's room was. The three of us stayed behind in the living room where I was frozen in shock, while the two kids continued to cry hysterically.
Nilapitan ko ang mga ito at pinatahan.
"Shhh, tahan na, sweeties," I comforted, secretly casting a calming spell. Slowly, their cries subsided and when they were calm enough, they looked at me as if silently pleading for help.
"Miss, please help our little princess," pakiusap ni Kyle.
"Yes po, she suffers a lot po, Ate. And she's in pain," Karl added, clutching my hand.
My heart couldn’t take it. Simula pa lang ay mahina na ako sa mga bata at matatanda. Napabuntong hininga nalang ako at sinapo ang kanilang nga pisnge.
"Okay, Ate will try," I said, and their eyes brightened with hope.
"But I need you to help me," I continued, and they both nodded eagerly.
"Anything po, Ate. Gagawin namin ang lahat para lang gumaling si Aisha," Kyle said with pure hope in his voice.
"Opo. Ano pong kailangan naming gawin?" Karl asked.
"I need you to pray and seek help from Goddess Lisha" I gently said and they nodded again.
We headed to Aisha's room on the second floor while the kids continued praying. I couldn’t help but smile faintly.
When we reached the second floor, we could hear the parents' cries and pleading. From where we stood, we could clearly see the scene inside since the door had been left open. Aisha was vomiting blood as her mother held her tightly. From here, I could see just how thin as skeleton and small the girl was, she's barely six years old, I estimated. I rushed toward her, feeling that she was only moments away from death.
Memories from the past flashed before my eyes as I stood infront of her bed—my little sister crying, coughing up blood in a hospital bed, nurses and doctors rushing in while my parents pleaded with the Gods to save her. I just stood there, paralyzed by fear amidst the chaos.
“I don’t want this… Please... Please…!”
I gasped and snapped back to reality. Without thinking, mabilis kong inagaw si Aisha sa bisig ng kanyang ina at dahan-dahang inihiga muli sa kanyang kama. What a foolish thing to do, crying and begging instead of calling a doctor or doing something to stop the bleeding!
"Give me Angelina herbs and Kaluvak heart. Now!" I ordered firmly before anyone could speak.
"Anong gagawin mo?" her mother asked through tears.
"Stop asking questions and do as I say if you don't want to lose your daughter for good!" I snapped, channeling a special healing magic near the child's heart and lungs since she was struggling to breathe. It wasn’t the usual light-based healing magic—it was something different. Something that given me by Goddess Lisha. The dark-based healing.
They immediately moved. They quickly retrieved the Angelina herbs, na una kong napansing tumutubo sa garden pagkapasok ko palang ng gate ng bahay nila, along with the dark-red, heart-shaped Kaluvak flower. What Aisha was suffering from wasn’t an ordinary illness, it was a poison that dissolves internal organs, targeting the heart and lungs.
I’d read about this in a book given to me by Goddess Lisha, which contained extensive information about rare diseases, curses, and poisons. This poison is so rare that only 3% of living beings—excluding demons—contract it, and there’s little research or known cure.
