"And what do you mean by that, little lady?" he asked with a mocking tone, making my blood boil even more.

"I said," I repeated, my voice flat, "it’s because of me that August was able to pay off his debt."

He blinked at me in confusion, then burst into loud, obnoxious laughter.

"Nice joke, little one!" Malakas siyang napahalakhak at napahawak pa sa malaki niyang tiyan.

"But I’m not even joking with you."
His laughter instantly died, and he stared at me, now serious.

"How could a young girl like you afford that much money? Did you go crying to Daddy for help?" he taunted, and his guards joined in, laughing like fools.

"You—" August began, clearly about to snap, but I raised my hand to stop him, my eyes narrowing in mockery.

"Well, no," I replied coldly. "Because I earned it with my own hard work… unlike a certain someone."
His face twisted in rage as he pointed a finger at me.

"How dare you! And why would you even help this lowlife when you could’ve just bought a new, better building with all that money!?"

"The same question goes for you, you pig."
I smiled devilishly as his face turned beet red. He was about to stand and lunge at me when he suddenly froze—and dropped back into his seat with a thud.

I turned my head toward August when I felt his presence becoming dangerous and saw his eyes glowing a soft, eerie violet.
Ah. So that’s his magic. A gravity controller. One of the rarest kinds.

"August, let him move," I said gently.

Even though I could feel he wanted to crush the man into the floor, he obeyed and released his hold. The man gasped, trembling, as he adjusted his seat with shaky hands and a hateful glare.

"You do realize that assaulting an aristocrat is a crime, right!?" He snarled, but we all just stared at him, unbothered.

"And you do realize that using another aristocrat’s name without permission is punishable by lifetime imprisonment, don’t you?" I asked innocently.
He paled instantly.

"I-I don’t k-know what you’re talking about," he stuttered, looking away.
I smirked. What a jerk.

"So, to answer your question… I helped because he’s a friend. And friends are supposed to help each other, right? Oh wait… maybe you can’t relate. After all, you don’t have any."
I said the last part in a quieter tone, but I knew August and Baron Francis heard it. I could tell from how hard they were trying not to laugh.

"So to end this useless conversation…" I straightened up and looked him dead in the eye. "WE WILL NEVER SELL THE INN. AND WE ARE GOING TO PAY WHAT WE OWE. So thank you for your time…Goodbye!."

August and Baron Francis stood with me, and together we gave the Don one last cold stare. He glared back with rage, pulled his cloak over his head, and stormed toward the door.

"Hindi pa ito ang huli, bata! Hindi naman kawalan 'yang bulok na inn na yan!" He growled before leaving in a dramatic huff.

"I'm sure that inn will never be successful!" he added before disappearing through the door.

We’ll see about that.

I finally let out a long breath and turned to the others with a proud, victorious smile. They were all beaming at me with admiration.

"That’s our little Lily for you!" Baron Francis cheered, clapping proudly, and August joined in with a soft chuckle.

I pouted at them.

Why does everyone keep calling me little? I mean, I’m tall for my age. I look eighteen to be exact! Maybe it’s because I’m young? WaitHuh?

After settling the debt and signing the ownership transfer papers, we had a long discussion about the inn’s future—rules, plans, improvements—everything.

"Finally, I don’t have to worry about the inn’s future anymore," August said as we walked back. "It’s in good hands now."

I looked at him and smiled.
"Yeah. So now you can focus on your family… and Aisha."

We talked about a few more things, and I promised to bring Aisha’s medicine by tomorrow afternoon. He still had somewhere to go, so we said our goodbyes.

As I walked alone, I looked up at the clear sky. It was bright… calm… peaceful.
Almost like the heavens themselves were smiling down on me.

When I reached the inn, I paused in front of its sign.

Luna Inn.’

Now, it’s truly mine.

A smile crept onto my lips as I slowly pushed open the door.

Inside, I was met with warm smiles by the faces I would now call my people, companions I’d share this journey with.

They were all looking at me like they already knew how it ended.

"Welcome back to the Luna Inn, new owner!" they shouted in unison.

I beamed.

"Yes… I’m back," I said joyfully as I stepped inside.

Now, the Luna Inn is safe and sound.
My dreams… they’re finally about to begin.

And at last, I can fully use my absorb skills.

Thank you for another day, my Goddess.’
