"It's lovely and warm here," said by Baron Francis as he looked around the bustling inn, filled with visitors attending to their own businesses.
"You're right, honey," replied Baroness Stephanie, her attention caught by the luxurious table crafted from materials not of this world.
"Puno ng mga tao ang bawat kwarto, pati na rin ang restaurant. Buti na lang at nakapag-reserve tayo agad," ani ng baron na may ngiti sa labi.
"Well, what can I say? I guess people really do love luxury and beautiful surroundings," I said jokingly, accompanying them to their reserved room.
They came to visit and check on the progress of my business, but also to have a relaxing time together. Honestly, I was surprised when I heard they were going on a short vacation 'cuz don’t they have important work to attend to? But they told me their children are handling things for now so they can enjoy some time together.
After showing them to their room and chatting for a bit, I bid them goodbye and headed straight to the restaurant to help Nanay Linda and the others in the kitchen. Even from the entrance, I could already see the long line forming outside and the packed interior full of happy customers. To save time, I teleported directly to the kitchen where everyone was moving at an incredible pace. It’s a normal sight by now, kaya hindi na ako nagugulat. When they saw me, they greeted me warmly, and I returned their smiles before quickly jumping in to help.
"For one month of running Luna Inn, including the restaurant, we earned about 80 gold coins, 300 silver coins, and 2,000 copper coins," August reported while handing me a paper detailing all the activities and transactions for the past month. My jaw dropped at the amount.
"How did we earn this much!?" I asked in disbelief as I read through the report.
"Well, you shouldn't be surprised, Owner. Our inn is now known in many places," Rose said cheerfully, clearly proud. The others nodded in agreement, clapping and cheering at the good news. I couldn’t help but smile widely.
"And all the guests left glowing reviews about our services and food," Nanay Marilinda added with a proud smile. I chuckled in pure joy. Maybe it’s time to reward them with a well-deserved salary increase.
"How are you, Lily?" asked a beautiful woman with high-waisted blonde hair, green eyes, a small pointed nose, and soft pink lips. It was Ate Angela, carrying a peacefully sleeping new born baby in her arms.
"I should be the one asking you that, Ate," I said with a smile, sitting beside the mother and child on the bed.
Yes, Ate Angela had just given birth yesterday to a healthy, beautiful baby girl named Evelyn Dïœcálēs. I found out from Rose, who lives near their home, that her water broke early in the morning and that three medical healers were immediately sent to their home. After completing a quick quest, I rushed over to find a chaotic but heartwarming scene, a crying newborn, a tired mother, healers bustling around, and Kuya Ernesto unconscious on the cold floor hearing his child’s first cry. It was chaotic but unforgettable—one of the happiest moments I’ve witnessed.
"I'm just as fine as yesterday. No need to worry," she said sweetly, glancing teasingly at her flustered husband.
"You should ask your Kuya Ernesto instead," she added with a smirk.
"Oh babe, stop teasing me," he muttered shyly, remembering how he fainted in front of everyone. We all burst into laughter, waking the baby. Ate Angela stood up immediately and began softly singing as she rocked Evelyn in her arms. Before the baby closed her eyes, her gaze met mine, her green and brown eyes like a freshly rained forest meeting my diamond sky-blue ones. She stared at me for a moment, then slowly drifted back to sleep.
I stayed a little longer to chat with them before saying goodbye. Then, I headed to the marketplace, happily browsing through various goods and trying different foods that caught my eye. After walking for a while, I sat on a bench near a stunning view, a wide, beautiful river reflecting the clear blue sky. I closed my eyes, letting the breeze play with my hair as I listened to the lively sounds around me. The chatter of villagers, sellers shouting their prices, at ang mga tawanan nang mga batang naglalaro.
Even though this is just a small village under a baron's rule, not a duke or marquess like in the manhwas I used to read, this place is beautiful in its own simple, heartfelt way. I think... I could live here forever.
My eyes narrowed as I spotted what the children nearby were eating while playing on the grass. It was a Höņelœu§ flower—a unique plant with honey instead of pollen. Its yellow petals had a sweet scent and flavor, almost like a fruit.
I felt a pang of sympathy for them. Hindi pa nga pala nage-exist ang candy sa mundong ito. Ordinary Cakes and bread lang din ang available na desserts dito, and even those were expensive. Seeing them reminded me of my own childhood when my little sister and I used to seep the flower's water since its sweet because we couldn’t afford candies. We were poor, but those were precious memories. We were happy, even with so little.
But for these kids... I want them to experience something more. I want to give them the taste of a sweet childhood I never fully had.
"What if... Yes, that’s perfect."
And at that very moment, a new idea—no, a new dream—was born.
Stella Candy House. A store that sells candies and snacks from another world.
A dream crafted from memories, built for joy.
