We took care of her, me, Lorenzo and grandpa. Lorenzo told his dad about me and wanted to switch schools to Glistering Island to help us. His dad came from Brazil and spoke with grandpa and grandpa promised to take care of him.

I cleaned my room for Qin to stay. It's more girly since it was my mom's room.

Lorenzo took the room beside the kitchen because he was a foodie and wanted easy access to snacks. Grandpa converted the study into a room for me, giving me a space to draw. It's directly opposite the staircase, so I'd see Qin if she wants to run away...

After registering her in the antenatal clinic, I secretly called my mom and grandma to share the news. They expressed their joy and offered their full support. Without her knowledge, I also arranged for a DNA test once the baby was born, as Blake had left his toothbrush and comb at my place.

Uncle Shi and Uncle Kang called after two months, asking why I wasn't back home. Uncle Shi and Uncle Kang are the youngest in the family. But Grandpa took the call and explained that he was lonely and wanted me to stay with him. He assured my uncle that we would make the necessary arrangements for me to switch schools and continue living with him on Glistening Island.

Uncle Lee called a week later, expressing his concern and asking why I hadn't returned home yet. Grandpa, with his usual charm, assured Uncle Lee that he was taking proper care of me. He also assured Uncle Lee that I stayed with him willingly.

Uncle Lee ended the call without responding, leaving a sense of unease in the air. Grandpa's charm couldn't completely mask the tension that lingered between him and my other uncles.

Grandma visited us when Qin's pregnancy was three months old. From her arrival, she treated Qin as if she were her own daughter, showering her with love and attention. I felt incredibly grateful for this kind of gesture of love, as it showed that I was blessed with an exceptional family.

I couldn't help but wish Blake was still alive. Although he might initially deny the pregnancy to spare my feelings, I believe deep down he would be happy to be a father.

Despite my efforts to contact Lee, he consistently ignored my calls and messages. I wanted to tell him about Qin's pregnancy because I knew he would be overjoyed to hear that Blake was becoming a father. I also wished to inquire about Blake's siblings or parents, as I wanted to reach out to them as well and share the good news about the baby.

However, Lee's lack of response to my attempts to reach out disappointed me. I kept trying, hoping that one day he would pick up and we could finally have that conversation. Until then, I would continue to reach out to him.

I was sitting beside grandma as she massaged Qin's feet. While Lorenzo listened to grandpa's story, my phone jolted me out of my thought.

"Mom," I said as I picked up the phone to talk to her.

Zhan, I'm working on something here, and the outcome will determine if I move to Glistering Island or not. My mom whispered on the phone.

"Mom, are you okay?" I asked, concerned. She hesitated for a moment before answering, her voice barely rising above a whisper.
