Y/N arrived at Dr. Kobayashi's office for her next therapy session. She felt a little more relaxed this time around, knowing what to expect. She stepped inside the office and sat down in the comfortable chair, feeling her heart beating quietly in her chest.
After a few moments, Dr. Kobayashi stepped inside and sat down opposite her. "Good afternoon, Y/N."
Y/N nodded slightly at the greeting, "Good afternoon, Dr. Kobayashi."
Dr. Kobayashi looked at her calmly, noting how comfortable and more at ease she appeared to be today compared to her first session. However, she also couldn't help but notice the lingering sadness and disappointment still evident in her eyes.
"So, how have you been since our last meeting?" She asked, gently breaking the silence between them.
Y/N thought for a moment, "I've been alright, I guess." She tried to give a positive answer, even though she wasn't really feeling that way.
Dr. Kobayashi nodded slightly, sensing that Y/N wasn't being entirely honest with her. But she decided to hold off on saying anything just yet.
"Did you manage to sleep well?" She asked instead, her tone gentle and caring.
Y/N felt bad about lying to the doctor, but she didn't want to admit that her insomnia had been acting up again.
She tried to stay positive, "Yeah," she lied, "I slept very well."
She tried to make it sound believable as she hoped the therapist wouldn't be able to see through her lie.
Dr. Kobayashi gave her a small smile, making it hard to figure out if she believed the lie or not. She then glanced at her notebook, which was resting on the table.
"So, let's see here... if I say that your insomnia has been acting up again, would I be right?"
Y/N froze in shock when she heard that. How did she know? She hadn't mentioned the insomnia issue to her at all.
Dr. Kobayashi seemed to notice her shock, "Oh, I'm not psychic or anything. It's actually obvious if you know what to look for."
Y/N was still speechless from before. It seemed Dr. Kobayashi really had noticed the small details she overlooked. Like her pale face and her darkly circled eyes. She thought she had gotten better at hiding them from people.
"As I was saying, the insomnia has been affecting you again this week." Dr. Kobayashi continued, her voice soft and gentle. "When was the last time you slept?"
