Y/N and Geto sat awkwardly across from Yaga in his office. They both knew why they were there - Yaga wanted to discuss the latest mission. However, they also both knew that Yaga had more to say than just the mission.
They waited patiently as Yaga shuffled some papers around on his desk, occasionally looking up at them with a stern expression. It was obvious that he was trying to gather his thoughts before speaking. Y/N and Geto stole glances at each other, wondering what was to come.
Yaga cleared his throat and finally spoke. "Now, this new mission you'll be on is unlike any you've encountered so far," he said. "It's not just about destroying curses," he explained in a serious tone. "If you two successfully complete this mission, with minimal casualties, your ranks will be made higher."
Geto and Y/N both exchanged shocked glances at each other, both realizing the weight and gravity of this statement. They had been training and preparing for years to become jujutsu sorcerers, and getting higher ranks and gaining merit were the next major milestone in their journey.
Yaga gave them both a serious look, before elaborating further. "This mission is a test, not just in your ability to fight curses, but in your ability to strategize, adapt and lead. Can you both handle that kind of responsibility?"
Geto and Y/N both nodded firmly, their determination gleaming in their eyes. "We can handle it," Geto said confidently, his voice steady. Y/N chimed in as well, "We've been training for this and we're more than ready."
Yaga nodded, seeing the confidence and trust in their words. "I believe you both have the potential to do so. But remember, this mission won't be easy and I'm relying on both of you to return safe and unscathed."
Geto and Y/N nodded in response. Yaga continued, "This mission will take you to Kyoto. There have been reports of a new and powerful curse user operating in the area, wreaking havoc and causing chaos among civilians. Your task will be to track down this curse user, eliminate any curses they summon, and bring them to justice. However, if that is not possible, you are to prioritize the safety of innocent lives over anything else."
He leaned back in his chair and looked at the two of them with a stern expression. "You'll be leaving in exactly one week. Use this time wisely and prepare yourselves as best as you can. Remember, your training and skills are not the only things that matter. You need to think strategically and work together in order to succeed. You are a team, and the fate of the people of Kyoto rests in your hands."
Yaga's words seemed to echo in the room, leaving a heavy weight on both Geto and Y/N's shoulders. They sat in silence for a few moments, absorbing the information and preparing themselves mentally for the task ahead. This mission wouldn't just be a test of their skills as sorcerers, but also a test of their bond as friends and allies. They would have to rely on each other more than ever before.
