Rei sat on the infirmary bed, her heart still pounding from the rush of memories. The room was dimly lit, the soft hum of the air conditioner providing a soothing background noise. Geto sat beside her, his presence a comforting anchor as she prepared to reveal the painful truth of her past.
Rei took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts. "It was a sunny day, just like any other," she began, her voice trembling slightly. "Riko and I were playing in the park. She was so full of life, always smiling and laughing. I remember the warmth of the sun on my skin, the sound of children's laughter filling the air. It felt like nothing could go wrong."
Her eyes grew distant as she recalled the details. "We were on the swings, taking turns pushing each other higher and higher. Then, out of nowhere, these men appeared. They were dressed in suits, looking completely out of place in a park full of children. At first, I thought they were lost or looking for someone."
Rei's voice wavered, the memory of that day still vivid in her mind. "One of them called out to us, saying they needed our help. I was hesitant, but Riko, being the kind-hearted soul she was, walked over to them. That's when everything changed."
She paused, her eyes filling with tears. Geto reached out, gently squeezing her hand in support. "They grabbed her first, pulling her away from the swings. I screamed and ran to help her, but another man grabbed me. I struggled, kicking and screaming, but they were too strong."
Rei's breath hitched, and she closed her eyes, trying to keep her composure. "They dragged us to a black van parked nearby. I remember Riko crying, begging them to let us go. They didn't say a word, just shoved us into the back of the van and slammed the door shut."
She opened her eyes, looking at Geto with a mixture of fear and determination. "They drove for what felt like hours. We were blindfolded and gagged, unable to see or speak. I could feel Riko trembling beside me, and I did my best to comfort her, even though I was terrified myself."
Geto's grip on her hand tightened. "You're incredibly brave, Rei. Just take your time."
Rei nodded, taking another deep breath. "Eventually, the van stopped. They pulled us out and led us into a building. I couldn't see anything, but I could hear the sounds of machinery and the smell of chemicals. It was a laboratory."
She shuddered at the memory. "They strapped us to chairs, and a man in a lab coat approached. He had a cold, calculating look in his eyes. He told us we were part of an experiment, something called the Memory Suppression Project."
Geto frowned, his brow furrowing. "What kind of experiment?"
Rei swallowed hard, the words catching in her throat. "They wanted to erase our memories. They believed that by doing so, they could control us, use us for their own purposes. They injected us with some sort of drug, something that made my mind feel fuzzy and distant."
She squeezed Geto's hand, drawing strength from his presence. "The man in the lab coat explained that they needed sorcerers with powerful abilities but wanted to keep them in check. By erasing our memories, they could train us from scratch, moulding us into obedient tools."
Geto's eyes widened in shock. "That's monstrous. How could they do that to children?"
Rei's voice broke as she continued. "They started with Riko. I watched as they injected her, her cries echoing in the room. I tried to break free, but the restraints were too tight. The last thing I remember before everything went black was Riko's terrified face."
A tear rolled down her cheek, and Geto wiped it away gently. "You're safe now, Rei. We won't let them hurt you again."
Rei nodded, her resolve hardening. "When I woke up, I was alone in a different place. My mind was blank, and I couldn't remember anything about my past. They had succeeded in erasing my memories. I was given a new identity, a new life, but deep down, I always felt like something was missing."
Rei's eyes darkened as she revealed the sinister motive behind their kidnapping. "It wasn't just about erasing our memories. These people, they were part of the underworld, a shadowy organisation that wanted to control powerful sorcerers. They knew Riko was special, that she had the potential to be incredibly powerful. They wanted to harness that power for their own gain."
Geto clenched his fists, anger boiling within him. "They wanted to use her as a weapon."
Rei nodded. "And they needed me to keep her in check. They believed that by controlling my memories, they could control her through me. They wanted to create an army of obedient sorcerers, all with suppressed memories and no knowledge of their true identities."
The door to the infirmary opened, and Y/N, Gojo, and Yaga entered, their expressions grim. Rei glanced at them, her eyes filled with determination. "We need to stop them. We need to expose what they're doing and put an end to their experiments."
Yaga stepped forward, his expression resolute. "We will, Rei. We'll do everything in our power to bring these people to justice."
Gojo nodded in agreement. "But first, we need to find out more about this organization. We need to know who they are and where they're operating from."
Rei's mind raced as she recalled the details of her captivity. "I remember hearing the name of their leader. They called him 'The Puppeteer.' He was the one who orchestrated everything, the one who wanted to control us."
Geto's eyes narrowed. "The Puppeteer... we'll find him, Rei. We'll make sure he pays for what he did to you and Riko."
Rei's heart swelled with gratitude and determination. She had spent so long feeling lost and alone, but now she had a purpose, a mission. She would fight to reclaim her memories and bring justice to those who had wronged her.
As they gathered their plans and prepared to take action, Rei felt a sense of hope she hadn't felt in years. With her friends by her side, she knew they could overcome any obstacle. The journey ahead would be difficult, but they were ready to face it together.
Rei looked at Geto, her eyes shining with a newfound strength. "Thank you, Geto. For everything."
Geto smiled, a warm, affectionate look in his eyes. "You're not alone, Rei. We'll face this together."
With that, they set off on their mission, determined to uncover the truth and bring down the sinister organization that had tried to control them. Rei knew the road ahead would be challenging, but with her friends by her side, she was ready to face whatever came their way.
