After another 20 minutes, Harrow finished helping another patient.
He finally finished helping another patient, it took around another 20 minutes or so but he was finally done and he was now heading and returning to my room. He quickly moved over to my room and made his way inside where I wasn't there, he looked around for me for a few seconds before realizing that I wasn't there. He looked back toward the backyard window and he could see me seated under the cherry blossom tree. He quickly made his way back outside...
He made his way back outside and he quickly spotted me seated under the cherry blossom tree, I seemed to be watching the night sky and the stars that were shining down from above. My back was leaning up against the tree and I had the blanket in my arms, the scene was quite nice and calming, it was as if I was simply enjoying my own company.
"Wow, you returned finally," I said gently.
He was immediately surprised to hear me speaking to him as he had expected me to be enjoying the scenery by myself. He smiled softly and calmly as he looked over at me, I was now looking at him and not just observing the night sky.
"Yes, I did," He replied patiently and gently as he moved closer to where I was seated.
I watched the sky, not looking at him for a moment.
He noticed how I simply kept observing the night sky, not looking at him for a moment even when he had gotten closer to my side. At first, he didn't know what to make of this or why I wasn't looking his way but then he thought that I was probably just in a deep focus with my examination of the sky. So he remained silent as he watched me, he didn't want to startle or disrupt me.
"I guess you're popular in here," I said.
He smiled softly as he heard me speak again, he then let out a small chuckle as he realized that I had noticed how busy he had been today. I thought he was being popular here was perhaps the reason why he wasn't returning to me immediately.
"I suppose I am..." He replied to me with another gentle smile, then he became curious about something.
"Did you miss me when I was gone?" He asked softly, his voice was gentle and quiet as well as he spoke.
I nodded.
His smile widened as he saw me nod, he was rather glad that I missed him when he was gone. That showed that I was starting to get attached to him now. He felt happy about that as he looked at me and then he spoke gently.
"I'm glad that you missed me..." He said softly, and he now wanted to know the next logical question that would follow from that one for him to ask.
"Did you feel lonely while I was out helping other patients?" He asked gently and calmly.
I nodded again, I started to bite at my nails again, my teeth pulling on the skin.
He noticed how I was starting to bite at my nails and he noticed the small nervous habit I had with my nails. It seemed that I was feeling slightly nervous now that he had raised that question, I felt a bit agitated as well even though I didn't show it on my face. He now realized that I probably had felt nervous or something similar when he was gone for so long and helping other patients.
He wanted to ease that restlessness or nervousness that I was feeling, so he gently reached out and took my hand.
I looked up at him, my hand was small compared to his.
He held my hand and he then looked down at it, he noticed how small and delicate it was compared to his. He then looked back up and into my eyes as he smiled softly. He kept this gentle and soft expression on his face throughout the entire interaction, he didn't want to make me feel uncomfortable.
"Don't bite your nails..." He said gently as he looked down at my hand and the way I was nibbling at the skin on my fingernails.
"It's hard not to," I said gently.
"I know, but it's not a healthy habit to have," He replied gently, he was still holding my hand and he gently rubbed my fingers as he spoke, he did his best to be tender with all of his actions around me, he wanted to be gentle.
"I don't want to see you hurting yourself with these habits, okay?" He smiled down at me once again as he continued to gently hold my hand.
"It's just easy to bite my nails, I can't stop," I said quietly.
He nodded his head once again as he looked at my hand and the fingertips which I was nibbling at. He knew that it was easy for me and it was something I did so frequently that I didn't even know when I was doing it. He took notice of the slight redness on my fingers and he realized that it was due to me biting them so frequently.
"I know it's hard to stop when it's something you've been used to constantly doing, but I want you to try your best okay? I don't want you to keep hurting yourself,".
I nodded.
"Thank you..." He spoke gently and calmly as he was still holding my hand. He continued to gently rub the tips of my fingers, he figured that this gentle act would help comfort me, and it seemed like it worked as I didn't attempt to start nibbling at my fingernails any more.
I rubbed my nose irritated because of the cold that I was beginning to get.
He noticed how I seemed to be rubbing my nose, and he figured I may have been developing a cold as well due to my fever. He became slightly worried about the possibility of me catching a cold along with still having a fever, so he spoke up carefully once again.
"Is your nose starting to bother you?" He asked calmly. The tone of his voice was gentle and soft as he spoke, this time he seemed more concerned as he noticed me touching my nose frequently now.
I nodded.
He took notice of how I nodded, and then he also could see how my sniffles were increasing as well. He grew more worried that I was starting to develop a cold alongside a fever which could cause me to be quite uncomfortable. So he spoke once more with a gentle expression on his face.
"Let me see here..." He said calmly as he reached out and gently felt my forehead once again.
I sniffle more "I hate being sick,".
He knew that I hated being sick, I mentioned that last time when I had a fever. So when I spoke about hating being sick, he knew exactly how I felt about it and why it bothered me. He took notice of how I kept sniffling as he felt my forehead and he now started to become quite concerned over how badly I was developing a cold.
"You're starting to develop a cold..." He spoke gently and calmly once more, he then let out a breath as he now understood why I was sniffling.
