A week had passed now, and the two of us were having lunch again together at home. I was sitting here at the dining table, while Isaaq would start eating as he'd sit right across from me. He wouldn't take too long to start talking as he finished eating a bit.
"So... " He started speaking right away, he was curious to know what was in my mind... especially after just a long week of nothing but being intimate with one another.
"Yeah?" I glanced over at him.
"What have you been thinking about lately, baby..." He spoke with a gentle and playful tone of voice as he glanced over at me as well.
"Thinking about us... How I'm enjoying this new step into this relationship."
"Me too.." Isaaq immediately smiled just hearing this from me, he had definitely enjoyed this step as well, and the more intimate we had become with each other the better he felt.
"I'm gonna be honest though... there just... is one thing I've been thinking about recently..."
"Is it something bad?" I looked at him thinking I had done something wrong.
"No no of course not!" He immediately responded as he tried to put me at ease, he had a feeling that he should've told me beforehand that it wasn't even something negative... But he still wanted to tell me now.
"There's just... something that I've been thinking about that we should talk about..."
"What is it?" I asked gently.
"Well..." Now his tone of voice was a bit more serious looking at me. He was gonna tell me right away, this was something important to him and he figured that I would know how much this actually meant to him.
"Baby... I wanna propose to you.." He said softly with a serious look and gentle smile on his face as he got on one knee at the same time. He felt that it was about time to do this for me...
"Like marriage?" I looked at him with a smile and teary eyes.
He continued to smile as he saw me looking at him with teary eyes, he had a feeling it was probably because of how touched I was by this. He then nodded as he spoke once again, this was him letting me know in the end that yes... this was a marriage proposal. Now he was awaiting a response from me as he remained on one knee, and that gentle smile on his face still never left.
"Yes, baby... marriage..."
"Yes... Of course, I will marry you."
Hearing my answer made him so happy, he immediately put down the ring box that he was holding. He had a huge smile on his face as he did this.
"I'm so glad you feel this way too baby... " He was so relieved and touched right now... Now he would then get up on his feet once more as he would now stand right in front of me.
He placed the ring on my finger, I looked down at it. It was simple but beautiful and then I looked at him and gently kissed him. "I love you."
He also kissed me in return, his smile grew so wide once the ring was safely on my finger. It just made the moment feel even more romantic for him... He was truly loving this so much more than expected.
"I love you too baby..." He spoke playfully as he wrapped his arms around me, he had never been happier in his life as he was now engaged to the girl of his dreams... Now he just had to wait until the wedding with me...
I looked down at the ring and back at him. "Do we need to have a big fancy wedding..?"
"Hm..." Isaaq then thought about that for a moment, he figured he'd rather keep it simple for the both of us... He didn't want to have too many people at the party and spend too much money either. So he gave it some thought as he spoke once again afterwards:
"No, baby... I think it'll be simple... just a small intimate wedding will be good enough for us..."
I exhaled from the relief. "Thank God... I don't like big events especially when I have no family..."
His smile grew even more after hearing that from me, he liked this. He knew about the topic of family for me, I never had anyone... It was something that he had figured, yet he hadn't brought it up just yet in the past, he wanted to wait for the right time to bring that up.
"Yeah... a small intimate wedding should do just fine then... I don't think either of us wants a big wedding either." He smiled once more as he spoke.
"When should we have this wedding?" I asked him softly.
"Well... I'm honestly not sure yet when we should have this wedding... there's so much time before now and the wedding day after all so we have time..."
He then got up off his feet, he would now hug me gently. "But... I do have something else I want to talk to you about... May I?"
I nodded.
"Well..." His voice then grew a bit more serious this time as he looked into my eyes once more. Now would come out the topic of the last thing that he wanted to talk to me about... Something that he knew would matter so much to me to know about at some point soon...
"Can I ask you something, baby?"
"Yeah, of course."
He then proceeded to ask me the question he had in mind, he didn't want to hold this off any more than he would have to.
"Have you... ever wondered about having children..? Like... ever?"
"We did start to talk about it months into a relationship, I think I would like to start you know... trying."
"I figured we would talk about it a little earlier just so we could figure out when would be good for both of us... but I also agree." He then smiled as he spoke some more, he then started to slowly rub my stomach as a way of rubbing the imaginary baby he was already imagining.
"I can't wait for us to have a child of our own..."
