I stand next to Finnick while the video of Katniss in district 8 plays. We are standing behind Katniss and Coin. When the video ends Katniss and Coin walk up to the microphone.

"There is no progress without compromise. No victory without sacrifice. But today I stand here with the Mockingjay to announce that our moment has arrived." The crowd breaks into applause and whistles and yells and I have to cover my ears because of how loud it is.

Katniss walks back to stand with us as coin continues talking. "Beetee has increased our use of the airwaves tenfold. We will broadcast this message to all the districts tonight. The Mockingjay's words inspiring everyone to join the rebellion. Together we will become an alliance to be reckoned with."

I cover my ears again as the cheering and applause starts again. And then the annoying chant they have.

-

"She was arguably our favorite tribute" I stand in the cafeteria with my arms crossed watching the television. I'm the only one in here until the elevator comes down and Katniss and Gale join me.

I look back at them then back at the television where a weak looking Peeta sits with Ceaser being interviewed. "And I think that's what we all find most astonishing, is that this girl was adored in the capitol.

Katniss drops all her stuff on a table and stands beside me. In one of my hands, I fidget with the pearl that Peeta gave me. He looks awful. His cheeks are sunken in, and he looks skinny. He's twirling a white rose in his hand as Ceaser speaks.

"And I think for you Peeta it must be particularly painful." Peeta ignores Ceaser's statement, and he just stares at the rose. "I wish I could give this rose to you." he says in a quiet voice. Even his voice has changed.

"Katniss?" Ceaser asks Peeta. But Peeta doesn't respond. I guess in Ceaser's tiny peanut brain silence means yes. "A sweet gesture for a girl who has inspired such violence. You must love her very much to be able to forgive her. I don't think that I could. Unless of course you think she is being forced to say things that she doesn't even understand."

"Yeah. Thats exactly what I think. I think they're using her to whip up the rebels. I doubt she even knows what's happening. And what's really at stake." They're doing something to him. And I don't mean physically. It's obvious that they're doing something to him physically. But they're doing something to his mind. If he knew Katniss at all he'd know that she wants this. They're messing with his brain.

"Now Peeta I doubt that the rebels will ever let her see this but if they do, what would you say to her? To Katniss Everdeen, the once sweet Katniss Everdeen. What would you say to her?" Ceaser is really getting on my nerves. I know he's a capitol person and stuff, but he is on thin ice with me.

"I would tell her to think for herself. Don't be a fool Katniss. I know you never wanted the rebellion. The things that you did in the games were never intended to start all of this. The rebels have made you into something that you're not. Something that could destroy all of us. So, if you have any power or any say in what they do or how they use you, please, please urge them to stop this war before it's too late. And ask yourself, can you trust the people you're working with? Do you know what they really want?"

"We need to respond." Gale says and Katniss and I both turn around. "Did you see what he looks like?" "I saw a coward." Now there are two people who are on thin ice with me. "You have no idea what he's going through." Katniss says. Her voice is loud, but she isn't yelling. "I don't care. I would never say what he just said. Not if they tortured me, not with a gun to my head."

"You can't be talking Gale. You've never been in the capitol you have no idea what they do to you." I say loudly. "So? They could torture me every day and I would never say any of that." A device in his pocket starts ringing and he grabs it opening it. "Coins called a meeting we need to respond." He says starting to walk away. "When did "we" become you and Coin?' Katniss questions.

"Everyone has a choice. How can he sit there in the capitol and defend the people who destroyed his home and murdered his family?" I am reminded of the attacks on 4 and 12. Then I realize. "Unless he doesn't know." I say quietly. "No one has seen what they did. And why would they show him? He wouldn't work with them if they did." It makes sense. They wouldn't show him what they did to his home. "We need to show them." Katniss says.
