This is the POV switch chapter!

Cason's POV

I sit balled up in the corner of the room with my hands over my ears. Just a few more minutes and it will stop, and I'll have someone to talk to. They've been playing the same song over and over every day since we got here. And it only stops once they shove an even worse looking Peeta Mellark back into his cell.

He's the only person I can talk to since our cells are conjoined. There is a window with holes in it separating us so we can hear each other and talk to each other when they are done beating us up and messing with our minds.

They haven't been as bad to me as they have been to him. Sure, I have a bunch of bruises, but I've been telling them everything I know. Which is nothing. The first three days were the worst because they didn't believe that I didn't know anything but since then they've basically stopped communicating with me.

As for Peeta, things have only been getting worse. He looks awful as it is when they force him out of his cell but when they shove him back in, he looks like a whole other person. They've clearly done something to his mind too because he's been getting more distant lately.

The music finally stops after the twentieth repeat. I brace myself for when they throw him back in because I'm genuinely scared to see what he looks like this time. I cover my ears again and wait. I hear his cell door open, and I flinch when I hear a muffled thud. I slowly uncover my ears and look through the window.

Surprisingly, he doesn't look as bad as i thought. Of course, he looks weak, but he doesn't look as dead as I thought. Of course, we sit in silence for what feels like forever as always. I always make sure to give him a minute to collect himself.

Before they started showing me what they call propaganda I would spend my time thinking about what happened to my family but now I don't have to. I've seen the videos they put Kora in. I've heard her talking about Lilly in them. Now I just sit in silence while I wait for him to get up. But it's been taking more and more time lately.

Our talks have been getting shorter and shorter lately. The last one only lasted about five minutes before we both went silent. But this time when he pulls himself up, he is dead silent. He doesn't say anything. I have never been good at striking conversation so we both sit there in silence.

A/N: Short chapter but it's just meant to give a bit of an idea of what they're doing to Cason. Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for reading!
