Air Raid Drill

The propo was broadcast all throughout Panem except for in the capitol. Apparently, people stormed the hydroelectric dam and blew it up causing a lot of deaths which made me feel guilty. All the power in Panem was shut off because of the attacks.

I didn't want to be a part of any of this. I didn't want a war. I just wanted the games to end. But I'm too far in. There's no getting out of it now. Even though I don't like any of it I wish Snow had seen it. I know what that song means to him. I know he has heard it. And I know he would be furious if he heard me sing it.

As usual I sat with Katniss and her sister Prim who I had gotten to know through Lilly. For most of the time we have been in district 13 she and Prim have been working as nurses. Of course, none of us were really eating except for Prim and Lilly.

I turned to see Boogs heading in our direction. When he reached us, he got down to our level so he could whisper into both of our ears. "You both are wanted in command." He said quietly. I nodded and gave Lilly a side hug and a kiss on the top of her head before standing up and following them both to command.

The door opened and I didn't even need to look at the screen when I heard his voice. Yet another interview that he was forced into. I was scared to look at the screen but when I did, I froze. To say he looked bad is an understatement.

He went on about the attacks that I had caused in district 5 and other districts that I didn't even know were rebelling. Though he didn't mention the cause of them. He just begged for it to stop. "We interrupt your regularly scheduled horse manure to bring you..." I looked at Beetee as he typed into his computer.

The screen that once had Peeta on it now had the video of Katniss in district 12 on it. My voice singing played in the background. "Thats it that's our footage." Coin said pointing at the screen. "Beetee's in." Plutarch said after her. For a few seconds it was just Katniss and my voice on the screen until it glitched back to Peeta.

"Katniss?" Peeta said right before it cut back to the footage. Only this time it was the footage of me singing at the lake. "He sees it he sees our propo." Coin said before the screen cut back to Peeta. "Kora are you there? Katniss?" Ceaser started speaking to Peeta again trying to get him to talk more about the past subject. I wonder if he knew i caused all of the attacks.

"The attack on the dam was a callous... and inhuman act of destructio-" He was cut off by the video again. This time the whole group was walking through district 4. When the screen was back to Peeta he leaned forward in his seat like he had something important to say. Like he was about to speak the truth. What he thinks. Not what they told him to think.

"Think about it. How will this end? What will be left? No one can survive this. No one is safe now. Not here in the capitol. Not in any of the districts." Peeta paused. He moved back only a little. His face dropped a little as well. What is he going to do? What will he say?

"They're coming Kora. They're gonna kill everyone. And in district 13 you'll be dead by morning." He was pulled away by peacekeepers just as it cut off. "He's warning us. That was a warning." I wanted to point Haymitch out for stating the obvious but now wasn't the time. They'd kill Peeta. And if they haven't already, they'll kill Cason.

I spaced out as i thought about the possible outcomes but snapped back to reality when alarms started beeping. I noticed Katniss leaving and followed her since i didn't quite understand what had happened yet.

I followed her into the cafeteria as she shouted for Prim. Then I realized. Lilly. Where is she? I started shouting her name as Katniss did the same for Prim. We went back to the staircase and rushed past people until a loud crash shook the staircase. Sprinklers turned on soaking us immediately.

The lights flickered as people rushed past us making Katniss fall down a few stairs. I helped her up and we rushed down the stairs until we got to the bunker. I spotted Finnick and ran to him as quickly as I could after running down the stairs.

"Finnick!" I shouted his name over the people yelling so he could hear me. He turned around and stared at me as I made my way to him. "Finnick where is she?" I asked in a hurry, looking around quickly. "Where is who?" He asked confused. "Lilly. Where is she?" "I don't know I thought she would be with you."

I saw Katniss running back to the stairs and quickly followed her. We went up a few stairs shouting their names until Prim responded. I heard Gale telling her to hurry as they went down the stairs. The water was making it hard to see anything, but I could make out a figure with them and prayed that it was Lilly.

We ran back down the stairs one final time and slid past the doors just as they closed. I turned around, saw Lilly next to Gale and made my way over to her, grabbing her shoulders. "Where were you? Why didn't you come down here?" She stared at me for a few seconds before holding up the bag in her hands.

I took it from her and unzipped it. It had all of the things I'd brought back from 4 in it. I couldn't help but shed a tear as I grabbed her againg pulling her into my embrace. "Thank you." I said quietly into her shoulder. It made me feel bad that she felt like she had to get it. But she was safe. She was here.

The bunker shook as a muffled bang sounded. We made our way back to the room full of bunk beds and I found Finnick again. I told Lilly to take the top bunk and get some sleep while I talked with Finnick. She did as I asked. She put the bag down and climbed the bunk.

We didn't get much talking in because of all the bombs going off that were shaking the bunker. We were cut off every time we tried to talk about anything. Suddenly all the lights went out and everyone turned on lanterns that were kept just in case.

I knew we weren't going to get any sleep. I laid my head on Finnick's shoulder and flinched as another bang shook the bunker.
