If We Burn You Burn With Us

"I made you some surprises." Beetee says as we enter what looks like a training room. On a table multiple weapons are laid out. Gale grabs a crossbow and my eyes land on a trident.

I walk over to it and run my fingers over the metal. Gail shoots a target with is crossbow and it goes up in flames. "And this one is for you." Beetee says waving Katniss over to show her a bow he made. After he shows her the different arrows for it, he looks over at me.

"And tell Finnick I have another trident for him. When he's ready. Might just cheer him... cheer him up." Beetee moves to Katniss before she can shoot her arrow. "Let's not shoot the red ones in here." He says taking it from her.

I walk with Katniss and Boggs to the hovercraft. We walk past what looks like thousands of giant bombs. "You had all of this and just left the districts to fend for themselves?" Katniss questions looking around.

"It's not that simple Katniss. We barely survived. We weren't in any shape to launch a counterattack. Yeah, we could have bombed the capitol, but they would have retaliated with at least twice the firepower. Then what? There would have been no one left to claim victory"

"Sounds like exactly what Peeta said and then you all called him a traitor." I muttered. Katniss looked at me, but I just stared at the floor avoiding eye contact. Boggs looks at me too, but I pay no attention to them.

As we step onto the hovercraft Plutarch introduces us to Cressida who introduces us to the rest of the camera crew. Messalla, Castor, and Pollux. We all sit down, and Katniss looks at Pollux. "You're all from the capitol? Plutarch got you out?" "Don't expect much chitchat from him. He's an Avox. Capitol cut his tongue out years ago. And no, it wasn't any sort of rescue if that's what you mean. We all fled on our own. For this. For you," Cressida says in response to Katniss' question.

"Wait you're an Avox?" I ask and Pollux nods. I nod and sit back in my seat, crossing my arms over my chest. I wonder how he got out as an Avox. They are supposed to be servants. You'd think that someone would notice he was gone sooner.

As the hovercraft lands and the door opens, we get out and crouch down, so we don't get dust in our eyes. When the hovercraft is gone, we make our way over to Commander Paylor. She leads us into a hospital where there are hundreds of sick and injured people. Even some dead people.

As we walk through, I watch all of the sick people taking medicines and all the injured either resting or being patched up. Katniss leads the way and people stop and stare as she walks by.

"Katniss Everdeen? Why are you here?" A girl asks. "I came to see you." Katniss replies quietly. "What about the baby?" Another girl asks. "I lost it." Katniss says keeping up the act that Peeta had started. I still thought he was a genius for coming up with that. Even though it didn't work.

"Are you fighting Katniss?" A boy asks standing up. "Are you here to fight with us?" "I am." Katniss says nodding her head. "I will." With that everyone kisses their three middle fingers and raises them in the air.

As we walk away from the hospital Boggs stops us. "There's a problem." "What?" i turn around to look at him "Incoming bombers from the north. We need to find cover now." "There's a bunker in there." Paylor says as a siren goes off.

We all ran to follow her. She led us to where the bunker was, but Katniss went the other way and Gale followed her. We ran after them as they stopped at a wall. There was an explosion that caused a tower to fall onto the building we were in.

I ran behind Katniss and Gale to avoid getting killed by it. Katniss stopped to watch as hovercrafts passed by. "They're circling back around. Come on!" She says as she starts running again. I follow behind her. We get up a set of stairs and see an explosion and two hovercrafts.

"That's the hospital. They're targeting the hospital." As the hovercrafts circle back around Katniss and Gale pull up their weapons and when the hovercrafts are close enough, they shoot. The hovercrafts crash into each other and then into a tower.

The tower falls and Katniss runs back down the stairs. When we get down there is fire everywhere and the hospital is destroyed. Katniss yells at us to help them but Gale holds her back.

"Katniss?" Cressida asks, holding up her camera. "Katniss can you tell everyone what you're seeing right now?" "Katniss what do you wanna say?" Katniss turns around to look at Cressida then she turns to Pollux.

"I want the rebels to know that I'm alive. That I'm in district 8 where the capitol just bombed a hospital filled with unarmed men, women, and children. And there will be no survivors. If you think for one second that the capitol will ever treat us fairly then you are lying to yourselves. Because we know who they are and what they do. This is what they do!" Katniss says loudly pointing behind her. She then looks at Castor. "I have a message for president Snow. You can torture us, and bomb us, and burn our districts to the ground. But do you see that? Fire is catching. And if we burn you burn with us!"
