Year 3828 — Cyber Ship Voragos — Section Tria
After discovering what was traded, they made their way back to the ship. They were now miles away from Miotero, deciding on what to do.
"You need to take me back to Neon," Astraea said as she sat on the bench at the bridge. "We're not bonded by proximity anymore so I can return back." As much as Zeph being able to feel her strong emotions bothered her, it was better than being stuck with him.
And after he tried to kill her for the billionth time, she needed a break. She never wanted to see him ever again.
"Why would I do that when I can keep you with us?" Zeph perked a smile.
"Not a chance." She tossed him a glare where he sat in his chair. "I promise I won't tell anyone and I need to get back so my mom doesn't get suspicious." She meant what she said about the keeping of the promise. "I don't want anyone else to know about where I went. And I won't say anything about Eclipse."
"Aren't you breaking the rules?" Ryker asked, leaning over the back of the chair to look at her.
"Yes, but I've already broken too many rules on this mission."
Zeph had to agree. She couldn't say much without her being paired with him. If they find out that she was with him, not even the General could stop her from getting arrested. He seriously was foolish to have tried to kill her.
"Taking you to Neon will take too long." Zeph concluded before turning to look at Ryker. "Don't you have anything that will take her there?"
Ryker thought for a minute. "I think I might have something. I'll go check my room." He stood up and made his way out the main deck.
Now it was just the two of them and the silence.
Zeph turned in his chair and tried, "Hey, I..."
"Don't. I understand where you're coming from. You don't have to keep giving me pitiful looks," she said, shifting her gaze to him.
He watched her fiddle with a book in her hands. One of which still had a bandage around it. Taking his eyes from her, he walked towards the exit.
"Follow me."
"Why should I?" She quipped looking down at her book.
"Just do it, please."
Sighing, she placed the book down and followed him. They walked down the hall, passing Ryker's room which was left of Zeph's. A loud thud came from his room before 'shit' escaped through the door.
Astraea just gave Zeph a weird look which he replied with a shrug.
He led her into the weapons room of the ship, scanning the boxes and guns long the walls.
"What are we doing here?" Astraea asked, brushing her fingers on a gun.
"I wanted to give you something." He pulled out a metal case that was lying on the ground. "It doesn't make up for what I did but it would be nice if you took it."
Clicking the case open, he revealed a slim pistol. The white pistol she wanted at the market. Blue and purple traced its barrel. Its two muzzles seemed to glow more than the one at the market.
"How do you have this?" She gawked at it, grazing her fingers along the edges of it. "There is only one of these."
"I bought it of course. I went to Hud and got it," Zeph said pridefully.
"But I saw the same one in Neon." She looked up at him, confused.
"Must have been a fake. This one's the real deal. Targeting system and all." Zeph crossed his hands standing by his argument. "You like guns more than me so you can keep it." He truly felt bad for what he did so giving her a gift was an idea he thought to make it up to her.
