Year 3828 — Eclipse Headquarters — Section Epta

Astraea and Renan found themselves running down the halls of Eclipse once more.

"How did you know the password for the prison?" Renan asked the dreaded question.

"I saw him type it in," Astraea lied.

"No you didn't," Renan argued. "You also knew the way to the ship yard far too easily. What are you not telling us, Rae?"

Astraea slowed down their pace. "I'm not keeping anything. I just remembered the way he took me." She kept her head turned away from him.

"Fine, don't tell me. But I've noticed how you've been acting strange lately. You can tell me after we escape from here." He concluded without winning much.

Astraea felt the guilt once again.

She'd been lying to them.

But what was she supposed to do.

Tell them that the Colonel sent the Auraforms to kill them because she discovered the truth. If Eclipse hadn't captured them, the Auraforms would have attacked the lab.

That's what Astraea concluded from this.

If the Colonel really is using their blood, he didn't want to leave anyone alive to know about it.

But then why would he send her squad?

Unless one of her squad mates also knew and he wanted to kill them too.

He wanted the group to be captured. So he could kill everyone at once.

"The room was around here." Just as she said those words, the entire base shook. Astraea reached for the wall to stabilize herself, Renan crouched onto the ground.

They broke it.

They broke through the barrier.

Astraea then quickly got her body up. "Let's go, Renan!" She yelled before running.

They needed to get to El quickly before the Auraforms stop them from leaving.

Sliding the door open, Astraea found the interrogation room to be empty.

"She's not here anymore." She uttered quietly. "We need to go look somewhere else. She should still be around."

Renan nodded before following her down the halls again. Sounds of mechanical guns came from outside along with loud screeches.

But they two continued to search the halls for El.

"What was that?" El asked once the announcement disappeared. "Auraforms?"

Ryker let out a curse. "Not again." He stood from his seat and pulled El's shackles up. "Let's go."

"Where are you taking me?" She struggled against his tight grip.

"Back to the cell. It's not safe to be out and about now." He pulled her into the hall.

"Why is everyone running? Are Auraforms really attacking?" She asked watching as the soldiers passed her.

"Yes." Ryker had a focused face on. He hated the timing of this. "Which is why I need to put you back in the cell so I can go fight them off."

They weren't ready for another attack because of the last one.

El stayed silent for a second. She wasn't sure what to say. She had never fought an Auraform that wasn't a simulation. "You can let me go so you can go fight them."
