Year 3828 — Dwarf Planet Miotero — Section Tria

"Sparkler!" Zeph yelled as he felt her faint, he wasn't too far off from doing the same.

Just as he screamed another wave of power washed over them. The large man's grip loosened and he collapsed onto the ground. The three other Strikers fainted as well, leaving just Zeph and Ryker awake.

But Zeph didn't have any time to understand what happened. Instead, he staggered his way to where Astraea laid. As soon as he touched her, everything faded away. His pain and stress was lifted as he rubbed his hand across her cheek.

"Sparkler! Sparkler, can you here me?" He patted her cheek, hoping she would wake up.

"She won't wake up just yet." A woman dressed in deep purple robes appeared behind him. Her hair was straight and jet black with tan skin. She had dark purple markings on her forehead and cheeks.

"Who are you?" Ryker asked as he reached Zeph's side.

"The one you've been searching for," she merely said before snapping her fingers. The Helix suppressing shackles fell of the three of them. "Follow me. We can't stay here in the open for too long."

Zeph knew from seeing her face who she was. So thinking nothing more, he lifted Astarea's body, letting her head hit his chest as he carried her.

She was the General's daughter. He was supposed to hate Astraea too. Not even the General is a good person to let a colonel do whatever he wants. The General also wanted to kill him once. She was as much as an enemy as the Colonel.

And Astraea was her daughter.

Though she is adopted, Astraea was still her daughter. He should have realized it sooner. When she told him that her mother hated him. He was too blind to see it. It now made sense why she had never gone on too many missions. It was because she mother was in charge, not wanting Astraea to be exposed to what she was exposed to.

Ryker and Zeph followed the ethereal woman down the tunnel ways. She led them through a door that opened up to a large room where a flimsy bed sat to the right and a small kitchen to the left—at least it looked like a kitchen. There were bottles of mysterious colorful liquids on the shelves and jars of unknown things.

Across the room from the door was a curtain separating another room.

"You can lay her down on the bed." The woman motioned to the striped fabric make-shift bed. Zeph did as she said, laying her down. "My name is Vespera, the sorceress you've been looking for. You may rest here while she wakes up. We can discuss things after she's up."

Saying nothing more, the woman shuffled out of the room and behind the curtain door.

Once she was gone, Zeph dropped down onto the side of the bed where Astraea laid. Ryker following his movements.

"When were you going to tell me she was the General's daughter?" Ryker said in a low voice.

"I didn't know myself." Zeph dropped his gaze to the colorful rug.

"Don't lie, you didn't look as surprised as I was."

"I really didn't know." Zeph turned to look at him. "I knew she was a Striker but I didn't know about the mom. She lost her planet to the Auraforms, they did the same thing to her planet as they did to ours. Exploded it from the inside."

"Why would COSMIC save her?" Ryker looked down at the sleeping Astraea.

"I don't know and I need to figure out why."

"You think she's more important than she looks."

"Maybe." Zeph mumbled, sorting out his thoughts. From what he could understand, she was most likely under Colonel Cosmara's Divisons. If Astraea spent most of her time in Meden, the most likely colonel would be Cosmara. Those other Strikers were also not a fan of her because she was treated in a higher regard due to her mom being the General.
