Year 3828 — Eclipse Headquarters — Section Epta
"What do we do now?" Astraea asked as she made her way into the stairwell leading down into the asteroid.
"We get your squad out of here before there is more trouble," Zeph replied as he walked in front of her.
She wasn't looking forward to seeing them.
Knowing Izmeria, she already told the squad where she went.
Meaning she would have to spill the truth.
Zeph stepped into the control center of the base when someone ran up to him.
"Haelar!" The man looked exhausted.
"What is it?" Zeph returned to his commanding tone.
"The Commander," the man panted. "He was killed in the attack."
"Where is he?" Zeph questioned in a low voice. Astraea didn't say a word as she listened.
"He's with the rest of the bodies that are being collected. They say that he was attacked by a hoard of Auraforms that overtook him."
Zeph thought deeply, a frown on his face. "Tell the rest of the men to gather up the casualties. Until Exective Officer Vexor returns, I will give out the orders. Is that clear?"
"Yes, sir." The man did a small salute. "The COSMIC prisoners have also escaped. They have them cornered in the lower level, sir."
Astraea whipped her head to Zeph, a look of worry written on it.
"Tell them to not do anything until I get there."
"Yes, sir." The man repeated a salute before rushing off to his duties.
"Your Commander..." Astraea wasn't sure what to say.
"I need to find that spy," Zeph hissed. "I'm going to make them regret ever taking the Commander away."
Zeph was close with the Commander, similar to a father figure. When Zeph and Ryker joined Eclipse, he made it feel like a family.
"Do you have any guesses?" She asked following him out the room.
"Not yet, but I'll find out pretty soon."
Astraea was just happy that she wasn't on Zeph's bad side. He seemed too serious for her liking. The death of the spy was going to be painful, that she knew.
"My squad, are you..."
"I'll let you go," Zeph said as they hurriedly rushed down the hall. "There is no point in keeping you here and they don't have much information they can talk about other than we have an army."
Eclipse's army was also scattered between different sections. However, this was their primary base of operations.
"What are you planning to do after we leave?" She was curious to his next moves.
"To bring the army together." He said not looking at her. "You said that you knew of the Colonel's next targeted location. Where is it?"
"Are you trying to go save the planet?" Astraea rushed to catch up with his stride.
"Yes. It's time we end this once and for all." Zeph tightened his hands into fists. "In order for the Auraforms to destroy whole planets, the person involved should be there. The Colonel will be at the next place, I'm sure of it."
Astraea looked troubled at the news. "Planet Audun. It's a desert planet known for its red clay sands and the large blue moon that fills the sky. It was the last planet marked to be targeted. Whatever he is planning, he'll finish it there."
