Year 3828 — Eclipse Headquarters — Section Epta

Auraforms came at them from all sides.

Astraea moved silently further from her squad, giving herself room for her Helix. Her pistol was firm in her grasp, waiting for its next attack.

Two Auraforms came barreling towards her, jaws open and wings flared. She rained a series of Plasmium bullets, aiming for their eyes.

Auraforms had few weak spots due to the scales that littered their bodies. The ones they were taught of were the eyes as well as the jointed parts that had fewer scales such as the under arms and under hide legs. The wings were also a weakness but they didn't damage the creature as much since they would still remain alive if the wings were attached.

The undersides of the beasts weren't as protected but were harder to reach. Even with Plasmium, it takes some power and energy to kill Auraforms.

The creatures could emit plasma so plasma infused metal was the only way to scratch their scales.

Whoever created them knew that they would be difficult to defeat.

Astraea then powered a stronger shot, the energy flew at the Auraform on the right in a blue flash. As the shot hit the Auraform, it dissipated quicker than Astraea expected.

The blue Auraform fired a plasma shot at the same time, causing the attacks to neutralize. As Astarea was distracted by the blue Auraform's move, the one on the left raised itself into the sky.

It realized a roar before sending three plasma shots in a row.

Hearing the roar, Astraea barely dodged the first shot. She rolled avoiding the second and as the third came at her she fired a targeting bullet.

True to its build the bullet met the Auraform's underbelly, striking its arm pit.

The creature screeched but continued to beat its wings.

The blue Auraform from her other side, raised its talons. Quickly removing a dagger, Astraea infused her energy into the Hyperalloy blade.

With a rapid slice, the Auraform's arm was removed at the wrist. Green blood sprayed Astraea's upper half alongside her cheek as well.

Astraea didn't pay any mind to it as she raised her right hand shot at the Auraform's eyes once more, this time permanently blinding it.

Swerving to its side, Astraea rammed her dagger near the underbelly, running it along in a swift motion.

The Auraform collapsed onto its other side, its entrails falling to the ground.

As she turned to face the other Auraform, she spotted El void-walking into the sky near the creature. She appeared above it and with her Plasmium blade, she drove it into the Auraform's forehead. El released a grunt as she slid the blade deeper into the creatures brain.

The Auraform lost its balance and tumbled down with El still on its back. Withdrawing the blade, El void-walked to a few feet from Astraea.

"Thanks," Astraea let out a quick breath.

El wiped a drop of blood off her face. "No problem. But there is more." She narrowed her eyes as Auraforms kept piling up through the open gate.

"We need to close it." Astraea addressed the problem.

"Then let's go." Without warning, El grabbed Astraea's hand and void-walked to the location she saw.

The two appeared at the edge of the wall where there was a control room. From where they were, Astraea could see the army of Auraforms as well as the ships that were fighting them off.
