A Wedding

(Luisa POV)

I woke up filled with immeasurable amounts of excitement and a small bit of fear, today was gonna be the best day of my life, today was the day I got married to the love of my life.

I got out of bed and saw Alana wasn't there, she must be downstairs already, I got dressed and went down to eat breakfast and saw my fiance as well as my family, I starting eating while people talked and asked questions but I was barely listening, I was just too excited.

today I didn't have any chores, so instead I started getting things in order, helping set up for the wedding and such, then had lunch, then started getting ready, the wedding was gonna be at sunset so I wanted to be ready before then, I double checked everything then headed off, I wasn't gonna let anything go wrong tonight.

le time skip~

I stood in front of a mirror analyzing my outfit once again, then turned to Isa who answered for the fifth time

"you look fine Lu, theres nothing wrong with your outfit, and if you ask me again i'm gonna change that"

"i'm sorry, i'm just so nervous, I don't want anything to be wrong"

"Luisa, there is nothing wrong, you look amazing and i'm sure Alana will agree, now hurry up and get out there, you wouldn't wanna miss your own wedding"

she ushered me out and I nervously made my way to the alter, in the sea of people I saw my papa who gave me an encouraging smile and my mama gave a small wave, I eventually came to the alter and waited, then my sisters made their way down the aisle as the flower girls, decorating the path with rose petals.

my anxiety heightened the longer it took, I was sweating bullets and I felt like I was gonna have a heart attack, but it all stopped when i saw her, Alana made her way down the aisle and I swear the world went quiet for a minute, she looked like an angel, like a goddess, I watched in awe as she came to the alter and stood across from me, I genuinely couldn't believe I was about to marry this perfect woman.

the pastor cleared his throat and started "dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness and celebrate the marraige of Luisa and Alana" he started talking to us "as I guide you in exchanging your vows, you, Luisa, and you, Alana, will declare your intentions for a lasting partnership in love and marraige, are you prepared to do this?"

we both said yes, and he told me to start, so I turned to Alana and told her "Alana, in the year that i've known you, I have seen you be the most amazing friend, person, and girlfriend, you made me look forward to each day because I know I get to spend them with you, I promise to love you in better and worse, in sickness and health, in good times and bad, I promise to love and cherish you for the rest of time, I can say with confidence that I would rather spend the rest of my life with no one other than you, I dont know what the future may hold but I want you to be in it, till death do us part" I finished and my eyes started tearing up while she started

"Luisa, since you saved me I've seen you to be kind, helpful, selfless, brave, and loving, I promise to love you no matter what hardships may come our way, no matter how difficult things may be I will always love and cherish you, you are the only one that I want to spend my life with and i'm lucky you want to spend it with me, I love you more than there are stars in the sky and I will only love you more with time, till death do we part"

we heard some sniffles from the crowd and the pastor gestured down the aisle, "the rings" he said

my little primo Antonio made his way up the aisle with the rings, stopping right in front of us and I took one and placed it on Alanas finger, then she did the same for me, I was definitely crying now but I couldn't help it, this was the happiest day of my life and nothing could ruin it.

the pastor started again "you have chosen to seal your vows with a ring, the ring forms a perfect circle, having no beginning or end, symboling eternity and the commitment you are making"

we held hands as it was being finalized

"Luisa, do you intend to take the womans whose hands you hold to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do" tears went down mine and hers cheeks

"Alana, do you intend to take the womans whose hands you hold to be your lawfully wedded wife" I was about to burst of happinness

"I-" she was cut off by a bloodcurdling scream from the crowd and everyone turned to see my cousin dolores who had stood up and looked panicked

"theres a, theres- it's- it's coming, we- we have to run-" her rambling was cut off by Pepa

"woah mija, what is it, whats coming"

"a Hellbore, I don't know how I didn't hear it before, we have to get out of here-"

she was cut off by a roar that shook the ground beneath us and I looked at Alana who was trying to pull me away

"you heard her, we have to go, come on"

I pulled out of her grip "no, this is my job, i'm not gonna let this thing ruin our wedding"

I ran forward as it slowly emerged from the trees, it walked on all fours and it looked very angry, its eyes locked on me and with surprising speed it hit me into a building, nearly collapsing it, but I pulled the bricks off of me and ran out to counterattack, but it was much faster than anticipated and I got thrown into yet another building and emerged a little dazed this time, it rushed at me yet again but I managed to dodge it this time and jumped on its back

it shook vioelntly trying to get me off, nearly having success several times before I got a good hold on it, then I climbed up its lithe body to its shoulder joint and punched as hard as I could, its arm almost instantly becoming useless on that side and is howled in rage and pain, twisting writhing in a vain attempt to detach me, but I climbed further to where its neck was before it surprised my by flipping onto its back, its spines stabbed into my sttomach but not far enough to do real damage, then it flipped back and I barely managed to keep my hold, I climbed up to its head and raised my hand while starightneing my fingers, then i plunged into its eye, but I kept pushing them further and further till its body stopped moving and blood pooled underneath, then I climbed off while people emerged from their houses, my mama rushed forward and gave me an arepa while Alana came to hug me, I started aplogizing

"i'm sorry mi amor, I said I wouldn't let anything ruin this day but I failed, so much for an amazing wedding" I looked at the ground but she turned my head to her

"it isn'truined, we can still finish it, don't worry because this will still be an amazing wedding"

the shaking pastor slowly made his way out and the guests returned to their seats while me and alana went back to the somehow untouched alter, this time with a large dead Hellbore behind it instead of a beautiful sunset, Alana had dust on her dress and my suit had stains of blood and bits of rubble in it, but I didn't care and neither did she, the pastor started talking with a slightly wavering voice

"Ahem, Alana, do you intend to take the womans whose hands you hold to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

she looked up at me with shining eyes "I do"

"you may now kiss the br-, you may now kiss"

she pulled my down to place her soft lips on mine and my hands placed themselves on her waist, we stayed there for a moment before pulling apart and the people cheered, she turned to me and said

"I know you think that this wedding was ruined, but to me it was the most amazing and perfect day of my life, I wouldn't have wanted it any different than how it happened today"

so I started writing this then realized that I got no clue how weddings actually happen, thank god for google

if any of yall are wondering why Isabela doesnt just control the plant monsters its bcuz they are kind of already being controlled, i'll explain how they come about later, but Luisa would never let any of her family fight, shed be too afraid of dem bein hurt
