Kaede exhaled softly as she stood at the doorway of the hospital room and looked at her grandmother. Her gray hair was tied up in a light bun, with scattered strands of hair sticking out.
Kaede had thought a lot about the past. Wondering who she could talk to about it. Her heart yearned to be able to confide in someone who could speak good words to her. And although her grandmother had always forgotten everything, Kaede thought that she could get rid of everything here. Just once.
Realizing that everything Kaede would say here would be forgotten by this woman, she slowly walked towards her bed. "Hello grandma." smiled Kaede, who hadn't taken any daisies with her this time.
However, she could see a few presents on the windowsill, which she was sure had come from the home. She had some friends there who didn't resent her dementia. "I see you've received lots of new presents." Kaede addressed them straight away and sat down on the bed next to her legs.
The brown eyes turned to the gifts as a soft smile appeared. "They're beautiful, aren't they?" she asked back. "Even if I don't know who they came from."
Kaede had thought so. There were only a few people she always recognized. And that was the doctors and nurses she saw every day. She must have forgotten about the staff at the home during this time.
"Yes, especially the magnolias." Kaede confirmed the beauty of the plants and had her eyes fixed on them. "It stands for beauty, femininity and gentleness without being weak and vulnerable." spoke her grandmother, who had now turned her face towards Kaede.
"She is soft and subtle in her pink color. But also embodies a powerful and steadfast demeanor." she added, which is why Kaede had taken her eyes off the flower.
"Just like you are." The green-brown eyes shimmered slightly at these words. It was a rare moment that presented itself to her. Her grandmother had momentarily forgotten the misty gleam around her eyes and saw her wonderful granddaughter, who had something on her mind.
"Grandma I..." "You are beautiful, Kaede." she interrupted her granddaughter immediately, which made the girl smile emotionally.
"I'm working on my first real book." Kaede now spoke and realized how the brown eyes had widened a little. "But...it's so hard for me..." the sixteen-year-old breathed, feeling her grandmother's hand on hers.
"Tell me." the woman asked gently, taking the opportunity to talk to Keade before she forgot everything again. Because that was what she had just recognized herself.
"Oh...Grandma..." came from Kaede, who had simply leaned down and laid her head against her chest, swallowing softly.
