/It was a pleasant summer when a little girl was at the playground, just looking for someone to play with. Kyoko had often seen a girl sitting on a swing and didn't know whether she wanted to be alone or go home. And that was when Kyoko had decided to play with this girl. Her name was Koko and she was a sweet and friendly girl who Kyoko had liked from the very first moment./
Kaede interrupted this text to think. Next to her on the desk was a piece of paper on which she had written down some names. Since her book needed the right people and characters, she simply used the people she knew herself.
So that her readers wouldn't know who they were at the end, Kaede gave each person a different name, using the same initial letter for the person in the book. So Kaede was Kyoko in her book, while Kazumi was the girl Koko.
She also had a few names in mind for Chika and Megumi, which she would decide on a little later, as they were not yet relevant. At the moment, Kaede was still thinking about her childhood and how she had met Kazumi in the first place.
Before elementary school started, Kaede had met her. And Kazumi had a slightly different character. She was open and warm. She was always up for fun. But as puberty came and her body changed, Kazumi became quieter and shyer. And that's when things took a turn for the worse and Kazumi was beaten up at school.
It was hard to stand up to more than one person anyway. Especially when you didn't dare to say anything. Kazumi must have thought that she would make things worse if she fought back.
Basically, she had put up with everything. From nasty words to physical violence and exposure. Being pushed around was almost Kazumi's daily life.
Sometimes Kaede wished she could have taken a little more care of them. She should have shouted at those girls earlier. She should have told them that they should be ashamed of what they had said and done.
But they were young and naive in middle school. They didn't take many things seriously, even though they had to take them seriously. And Kaede had more than just learned from that.
Her eyes fell on her brightly lit screen as she saved the next progress and took her grandmother's words to heart. Kaede didn't want to forget anything, but she wanted to process it with this book and learn from it herself. She didn't want to hide the bad times and thought it was important to mention the little things too.
So far, Kaede was very happy with everything she had. She was just looking for an opinion here, which she would certainly get from Chika.
