Osamu had taken Kaede home that day, which she was honestly quite happy about. The situation with Dai had been so strange that she didn't even know what was right or wrong anymore. Yes, Dai had simply behaved wrongly. But Kaede didn't want to admit that this was his real character.
In middle school, Dai was always there for her. Had comforted her because Kazumi was really important to her. Had it only been to make her cling to him, to make her love him even more? Somehow it seemed so sureal to Kaede. Dai didn't have to freak out because of her feelings. Yes, she finally had to come to terms with it.
Kaede managed to do so in some way. It was just that the chapter that had begun when she died had reminded her of everything. Kaede had her grandmother's words in her head again and again. But writing it as it had happened was still incredibly difficult.
Kaede realized this even now, on that Sunday afternoon. She had already studied and done her homework. Her fingers touched the keys of her laptop as she looked at the page she had started. Koko's name was still there, while everything else had been blank.
The death of Kazumi, or Koko in her book, would end the whole chapter. Because Kaede wanted to start the new chapter with the beginning of her high school. At least the part about the vacation before that. Kaede really wanted to take this whole step. Let her own feelings flow into it.
"Okay..." exhaled the brown-haired girl, who had collected herself for a moment to think about the next words. It was an important step and also an important chapter, which should not only help her. Kaede wanted to address everyone who had gone through the same or something similar. But she also wanted to say something to the victims that might not go down well.
Her aim now was to show and tell the victims, despite the bullying, what they would leave behind if they died. Relatives who mourned them every day and couldn't get over it. They needed therapy because they could no longer cope with themselves. So Kaede hoped that some victims of bullying would also think about it.
Of course, the best solution was certainly to kill themselves so that they no longer had to feel the suffering. But there were plenty of other ways. Changing schools, looking for another job, simply moving away from the perpetrators as much as possible. A death was more painful for other people than for the victim themselves.
That's why Kaede tried to be there for Chika and Megumi as best she could. To be honest, Kaede was afraid that she would have to go through something like this again. Afraid that someone she liked would take their own life again. And even she wouldn't be able to take that anymore.
/Koko had behaved as usual when she came to school. Nothing had indicated that she was in a bad way. At least that's how Kyoko felt when she saw her best friend during the lunch break. Unfortunately, Koko kept a lot of things secret and didn't often talk about what was really bothering her. Kyoko could try anything she wanted. If a victim didn't want to talk, then so be it. Being patient paid off in many cases./
Kaede bit her lip slightly. Could she leave it like that, or should she rephrase everything a little? She couldn't really put herself in the shoes of a victim of bullying. Kaede could only guess how they would feel. Kaede looked up some things on the Internet, but she always secretly asked Chika and Megumi about them.
It wasn't really necessary. They would explain it to her if she asked them directly. But then again, no one should notice that the people in this book were inspired by real ones.
Reading through the text again, Kaede nodded slightly. She could certainly use it to find a more or less good ending for this chapter. And somehow Kaede was a little proud of herself right now, because she had managed to write a paragraph without panicking.
