The next day, Kaede was on her way to school a little earlier because she wanted to go to the volleyball team's morning practice. Since Oomi, the coach, needed the texts for the tournaments, Kaede thought she should do this work earlier than planned. She didn't know when the first matches would take place and what was involved.

She had checked the internet for information about the high school tournament, the preliminary rounds for the spring tournament and the spring tournament itself. She also came across a few schools that she had heard of before.

The squeaking of indoor shoes could be heard as Kaede pushed aside the entrance net and stepped into the hall. Her eyes turned to the players who were about to play against each other. Atsumu and Osamu were on the same team, as she could see. Opposite them was Suna, a middle blocker, as she could guess.

"Oh, Kaede, you're here?" asked Oomi, who had spotted her first. For Kaede, it was briefly strange that the coach had addressed her by her first name. Apparently it was easier to go by other names in this club.

"Yes, I wanted to start collecting all the players' information." Kaede explained and took a notepad out of her rucksack. "I see. The set is almost over. Then they'll have a break anyway."

What was a sentence, please? Something that ended the round or something? Seeing that Kaede had probably made a questioning face, Oomi smiled. "A set ends at 25 points. In a normal game, there are three of them. In the finals of the preliminary rounds for the spring tournament, there are even five sets."

Kaede nodded in understanding. Now she understood it a little better and wondered if she needed it for the lyrics. Maybe not so much, since this was about the players.

A whistle sounded, which the Viza coach used to end the first set. "Break!" he called out to them, which is why the players immediately dispersed and went their own way. At least for some of them.

"Listen guys!" Oomi called out now, so that he had their attention. "Kaede is here and will need the information from some of them!" he called out again so that everyone in the hall could hear.

Kaede nodded gratefully and thought about who she could start with. Basically, the older players were more experienced and knew what to say to her. So it wasn't exhausting and would be over more quickly, which was why she wanted to take on the first-year students.

It might have been a bit more work for Kaede, but in the end she knew how much time she could have for the second years. Oddly enough, this team wasn't even made up of third graders, which was the case in many schools.

"Well, then..." Kaede began to say, and would start with someone she wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible.
