All day long, Kaede had kept a low profile when it came to Megumi. After the last bell rang, Kaede, who was in an extra lesson, ran straight to the exit. Kaede only stopped for a short time to change her shoes and then ran straight on towards the sports hall.
As usual, you could hear the squeaking of the hall shoes and the balls hitting the floor. This was not important for Kaede right now, who pushed the net aside and stepped into it.
At that moment, a volleyball rolled in front of her feet, which she had picked up. Highly concentrated, the players warmed up, among whom Kaede had been looking for a certain person. When she spotted him, she simply threw the volleyball towards him, just as there was a bang.
"Ouch, what are you doing?!" the boy grumbled and looked towards the entrance, rubbing his head. A grin was already noticeable here. "Oh, the backpack thrower." he pronounced her nickname as Kaede walked towards him.
"What are you doing out here so early in the morning, you idiot?" asked Kaede, who had grabbed his ear without hesitation. "Ouch, let go!"
"Forget it! Do you have any idea what your oh-so-great classmates have been up to?!" It had become quiet in the sports hall. In the last year, Kaede had behaved quite loudly and rudely towards Atsumu. Well, he deserved it in some ways. His provocative nature wasn't easy sometimes.
A snapping could be heard the next moment, which was why Kaede had turned her gaze to Suna. "What? Nobody else believes me..." he shrugged his shoulders. Suna had always taken a few photos and videos, which was always due to the twins.
"Kaede, let go of him." asked Kita, who had come up behind her and, as Kaede could see, had apparently become the official team captain. "Tell him to apologize to Megumi." Kaede demanded of the Miya, who had contorted his face. "That was your promise, you..." Kaede couldn't think of a suitable insult. Their strange friendship wasn't exactly easy anyway.
"Could you please let go of my brother's ear? He can't hear well enough as it is." Osamu, who had placed his hand on her shoulder, asked. Exhaling, Kaede actually let go of the ear that Atsumu had been rubbing. "I can hear just fine!"
"I know. But it was just the right thing to tease you." Osamu said. Kaede often gave him opportunities to provoke his twin himself.
"Our Osamu is probably the only one who can calm down our backpack thrower." Aran said calmly, standing next to the new first-year students, who had a great deal of respect for this girl.
"Are you on your period or what?!" asked Atsumu, slightly annoyed, as Kaede almost wanted to throw something at his head again. But right at that moment, Osamu had already put his arms around her neck so that she was restricted in her movements.
"What was that?!" scolded Kaede, who had stretched forward, but Osamu had stopped her. "Calm down, Kaede. What exactly happened to make you want to kill my brother?"
Kaede breathed in and out deeply. "Megumi got new glasses today. And guess who laughed at her again and who wasn't there because volleyball was more important in the morning." Kaede said, looking at Atsumu for a particularly long time.
He looked away, slightly guilty. Yes, he had spontaneously gone to morning training to practise his passing. Perhaps he should have skipped it this time.
"How is she now?" Aran was the first to ask, which was why Kaede had calmed down a little and Osamu was able to let her go. "A little better. But she wouldn't have cried if..."
"Yeah, if I had been there." Atsumu waved off and realized that Kaede was angry with him for that. "But you could wait until the warm-up is finished next time before you throw something at me." Miya reprimanded her with a grin.
"You pompous..." Kaede began to say and this time was not interrupted by one of the players. "Kaede, while you're here, you can do the new texts for the new magazines." spoke Oomi, who wanted to see her about that again anyway.
"If I can write for Atsumu that he has an IQ of his shoe size, I'd be happy to." Kaede accepted the offer. "I don't have such a low IQ!", the player immediately scolded.
"Huh? Did you say something?" Kaede asked now that she hadn't listened to him on the subject. "You..." hissed Atsumu quietly, who had clenched his hands.
Sometimes Atsumu really hated this girl because of these comments. But he also knew that his brother really liked her and therefore often pulled himself together. But Kaede really got on his nerves sometimes!
