Several months had passed in which Kaede had continued to inform herself about her course of study. Despite her father, who had some reservations, the brown-haired girl had decided to enrol at a university that could offer her all the opportunities she needed. Kaede may not have had the same grades as Chika, but when Kaede was at university, she was able to prove herself to the lecturers.
Her first entrance test was to recognize the kanji script and explain the exact words. There were many names and words that meant similar things, which she was able to describe very well.
Kaede was also given the additional task of writing a text in kanji script and reading it aloud. Kaede had scored a point here, as she was one of the few who could complete the task without any problems or help.
Naturally, Kaede had been relieved when she had passed the test. She knew herself how good she was, but was still afraid that she would mess something up. Japanese writing was not always easy. There were many lines that were mixed up or forgotten in the words.
But despite all this, Kaede still had to improve a few other grades, which is why she often got a little help from Chika. She was in class 3-4 and was one of the smartest in class 3-5. Megumi, who was still in 3-2 with Atsumu, had also joined Kaede so that she could at least do better in her final year.
Such study groups were not uncommon. Especially in the third year, you could see some new groups that had formed. Even Osamu, Atsumu and Suna had already formed one, which consisted of volleyball players, but they were able to help each other well.
Volleyball was still very popular with the boys. But the third graders gave up some of their skills to the first graders, who would eventually replace them. Atsumu was especially hard on them, as he wanted to make sure the Inarizaki could continue to go to the spring tournaments.
Osamu was a little more reserved and patient about the whole thing. After all, he wasn't a setter like his brother, nor did he want to continue playing volleyball after high school. He had already admitted to Kaede that he would never be as good as Atsumu.
He simply didn't have that talent and only played because he enjoyed it. But becoming a famous player was never his goal. The grey-haired man didn't want to be in the limelight, nor did he want to have all the fans around him. Only understandable, given the way things had degenerated in recent years.
But Kaede hadn't been able to shake off one feeling for a long time. The feeling that he would never see this boy again because of his studies. No longer being able to feel his closeness, which had always helped her subconsciously. Not being able to talk to him anymore, because everyone would go their own way. And it was this loss that Kaede was really most afraid of.
Because in her book, Kyoko would end up with this very boy, which was more wishful thinking on Kaede's part. A wish that would never come true, because she couldn't part with her current boyfriend because of Osamu.
