Chapter 4: Talk Me Down.

{Troye's P.O.V.}

I fumbled & tripped a couple times on my way to class, reaching AP Literature just before the bell rang. Again, I don't really enjoy sticking out, so I opted for a seat towards the back. I've grown familiar to the back of a classroom. You hardly get called on, almost or maybe never. If anything, it's like you get forgotten all together, especially if you were a quiet student & I was. It's something I'm fine with though. I felt someone staring at me & for whatever reason, I look up to see who it is.

It's Tyler again.

I flashed a small smile to let him know I see him & he smiled back before I settled in my seat. I could still feel him staring at me & the smile on my face continued to grow. I can hear him & the Harts bickering, I think it was over me, & then Mr. Dawson, our AP Lit teacher spoke up all too soon. I caught a thought of Tyler's beforehand & it seemed like it was about me & his rough past with an ex-boyfriend & I then felt guilty for reading his thoughts.

"Mr. Oakley, is there something interesting you'd like to share with the class?" Mr. Dawson is a nice teacher a good percentage of the time, very well educated, but he's scary when need be, much like right now, staring at Tyler, boring a hole into his head with such intensity.

"No, I'm sorry," He replied in a small voice, sounding shy. It sounded nothing like the confident Tyler I had become accustomed to over the years. But Mr. Dawson showed no mercy & embarassed him further.

"If you're going to stare at boys, please do it on your own time & not my own. Clear?" His voice was sharp like daggers, but Tyler got the message & paid attention for the rest of the period.

The blush on his face didn't go away at all & I couldn't help but feel empathic. I then remember that Mr. Dawson said that he was staring at a cute boy.

Could that cute boy have been me?

Curiosity got the better of me & I needed to know for certain. I focused all the energy I could, concentrating without turning around onto Tyler.

I heard a few small, irrelevant thoughts like what he was going to eat for lunch today & what hair color he should dye his hair next, so I put a little more concentration into reading his thoughts. Ones I actually cared to hear.

Eventually, I succeeded & heard one about me.

"I can't stop looking at him, he's so God damn sexy. I wonder if he's gay?"

I blushed while shaking my head slightly, turning my attention back to the board for the rest of class.

The bell rang next thing I knew & I gathered my things to leave class. I began walking, but tripped & fell on my face because someone had stuck their leg out.

Ricky.

He & his friends laughed, Connor not saying anything at all & they headed to their next class.

I rolled my eyes in annoyance, chanting my favorite words to keep myself sane.

"Just 9 more months."

2nd period was boring, Pre-Calc is ALWAYS boring. Math is not my strong suit either, so I heavily rely on Joe to help me out for it, but he didn't mind. He simply says that I would do the same & he's absolutely right.
