Like an astronaut that's scared of heights

With a heart that's beating at the speed of light

You've been waiting for this feeling all your life

Sometimes it's just hard to realize

When you're stuck in a moment

And your spark has been stolen

This is our time to own it

So own it

Baby, we were born with

Fire & gold in our eyes, eyes

With fire & gold in our eyes, eyes

Got lightning in a bottle

Hands on the throttle

Even in the dust we shine.

Chapter 22: Soul Searching.

{Troye's P.O.V.}

Everyday, every waking moment, I somehow find a new way to love Tyler. & he seems to find more reasons to love me more than I love him.

I love him, I love him very much. More than I understand, more than I express.

I'd be lying if I said I'm not feeling stressed about the whole power situation, but I have Ty by my side to help me through it.

We can do anything together.

The Allegiance President has been hanging around out school too much lately for my liking, making me feel quite uncomfortable & I may also say unsafe. Anytime Jenna sees me, she paints the town with her heartless, unmerciful manner, but nothing more than the fakes of smiles on her face constantly during her interviews, public appearances, or when she's talking to average citizens. Like me.

How do I know that smile is fake? The genuine sense of light isn't there, it doesn't reach her eyes. It's like she's guarded constantly.

It's absolutely scary.

AP Lit isn't a blast right now learning A Midsummer Night's Dream. I constantly keep falling asleep in class, luckily never being caught by Mr. Dawson because Ty is always looking out for me. Ricky & his friends are always giving us intimidating glares, getting under my skin. Hannah & Mamrie are a little nuts though, scaring them off all the time.

"Hey Troye, wanna know what Ricky is thinking right now?" They both say at the same time. Holy crap, how do they do that?

Well, it's not like have the power of mind-reading too.

"Yeah, sure, why not," I egg them on, glancing over at Ty.

"He thinks you & Tyler make a good couple," Mamrie twirled her pencil, chucking it at Hannah, Hannah catching it & snapping it in half.

"Hey, that was my only good pencil, Hannah!"

"Well, obviously, we didn't need his opinion for that," Tyler moved his eyebrows up & down, grabbing my hand to interlock it, kissing the back of my hand.

I blush, a small smile reaching my lips. I wanted to say something back, but got interrupted by Connor taking a seat with us. We all made fun of Ricky along with his friends for the period, acting like we were reading whenever Mr. Dawson came in to check on us.
