Pain make your way to me, to me

And I'll always be just so inviting

If I ever start to think straight,

This heart will start a riot in me.

Chapter 42: Embrace The Unexpected.

{Tyler's P.O.V.}

[A/N: Wasn't ever expecting to see me here again, were you? Neither was I, tbh?? I thought about it for a few months about quitting writing, but I owe you all an ending & it's a commitment I wanted to keep, so I'll try my best. I'm sorry I haven't updated since January & idk how often I'll update again, but just know I'm trying my hardest! It's my Senior year in a few weeks, so I'm excited & everything is coming to an ending of a big chapter for me as well as for this story. Fair warning, it's going to get angsty of a shitstorm from here & know that I apologize from the deepest depths of my heart & I love you! I missed you all. I hope you enjoy, xoxo.]

"Oh my god, Tyler!" is all I heard through the ringing in my ears while I tried to even my breathing.

I clutched my ribs gently as I laid on the floor, feeling like they may be broken from the amount of blunt force that was put upon them, but within a few minutes, I felt better than ever & was able to fully breathe. It's like I was... healed? My lungs will fill, then deflate.

Connor pulled me up to my feet & grabbed my face to look him into his eyes. I think he was attempting to see if I had an head injury of any kind, but like I said, I felt better than ever & all of my evidence of injuries were gone like nothing ever happened. What's going on with me?

"Tyler, can you hear me? Are you okay," Connor continued to examine my body & I started swatting him away because he was being such an overbearing mother.

"Con, I'm fine," I huff out a small laugh & nudge his side in a playful manner to indicate I'm more than okay.

"Ty, what just happened? All of your injuries are gone. This doesn't make any sense."

"I don't think anything in our world makes much sense though, does it, Connie?" I replied harshly & softened my eyes because it wasn't fair to treat Connor like he was the enemy. He wasn't when all he's trying to do now is help me.

"You've got two-tone everything, way too intelligent, moving but you just can't move. Are you sure that you're feeling better?" I felt his eyes scanning over my body once more to check for any signs of pain & I crossed my arms to prove that was enough.

He threw his hands up in defeat to show that he was done parenting me before he pissed me off any further, backing off.

"Do you maybe have any idea of what happened to me, Con? You're a lot more educated on the history of our superpowers than I am."

"Wait, I read a prophecy once about something like this. It was about the chosen ones that'd save our society from destruction & what they were capable of."

"Did they ever state the name or anything else that might be useful?" I wanted to pry the answers out of him rather fast because something in my gut told me we were running out of time.

"Yeah, it stated-" Con cut off himself off & I groaned in exasperation with him telling me to shush.

"They're coming for you, Tyler," Connor turned to me, awake & wide-eyed like they were screaming at me. Before I could form a sentence out of my mouth, he whispered in my ear, "Run."
