Aditya Kashyap was making Samidha's heart beat faster than Sahaj ever could.
He was deliberately delaying the conversation for which he was there and the thought of Sahaj barging in anytime scared the shit out of her.
After so long was he finally getting better, he was finally truly happy. She didn't want to ruin that.
"So...........you are his friend."
Mr. Kashyap finally broke the silence and she nodded."His classmate."
"How did you two get this close?"
"We aren't. I just prevented him from almost killing a guy in a fight."
She replied, trying to be as curt and to the point as possible."I can see you have a great impact on him. He's very.......tamed nowadays."
His words irked Samidha. What did he mean by that? Sahaj was not an animal. He was a human and humans are not tamed.
"There's nothing like that uncle. He himself wanted to change. I didn't do anything."
"But you did help him."
"No. I am way too harsh with my words. I spit acid. I show him what he is to others. I'm just as bad."
"And the idea of renovating the house, it was yours?"
"No. I asked him to do something for his grandmother and he decided to renovate your...........bungalow "
"That was quite surprising. I thought that I had entered the wrong house."
Aditya Kashyap chuckled at thought.
His eyes turned dark.
His son hated him. He hated him so much that he never once even entered his room.Samidha awkwardly laughed. Why was he trying to be casual? Why wasn't he coming to the point before Sahaj comes.
"I'm sure you are wondering why I am not coming to the point."
"Oh no no. There's nothing like that."
Aditya laughed and took a sip from the glass of water.
"You see it's hard to talk about a son like Sahaj. Never once in his life has he not done something which wouldn't make my head hang low from shame."
He took a pause and Samidha furrowed her brows. Why wasn't he looking at her as he dared to make her angry?
"Why would you say so? He has won many Mathematics Olympiads, many state level championships, and scored an almost perfect score in 10th boards. As per what I remember he was 3rd in the whole country."
"But studies alone don't matter child. He isn't a bit respectful to anyone. He-"
"And isn't it your fault that your child doesn't have any manners?"
She sharply cut him.
No one was allowed to talk shit about him to her. Especially not his father when he himself has neglected him for almost his whole life.Aditya Kashyap stood up, banging the table and flaring his nostrils. How dare she?
"What do you mean? That I don't care about my son? That I'm a useless father?"
"Don't take me wrong uncle but based on what I know, that is exactly what anyone would think."
She said, standing up herself."What do you kids even know? All you think about is your problems! You don't have any idea about what a parent goes through! Do you know how embarrassing it is to listen to teachers complaining about your son so much that they want to expel him from school? Do you know how humiliating it is to listen a handful from the whole hospital staff? You don't know anything!
He has gotten in so many fights! That kid Aryan, Sahaj bullied him in school and now he punches him out of nowhere! He has broken his nose with that punch! You know who Aryan's father is? You know how much loss my company had to take in a day because of my son's punch? Do yo-"
