And finally, Sahaj laughed. Not exactly laughed, but snorted.
Folding his hands in front of his chest, totally unaware of what he did, he leaned back in his seat and looked at Samidha with a small mischievous smile.
"It must be so tiring, living in the same body as Samidha, right ghost? I'm sure she eats your brain too!"
Samidha raised her brow, appreciating his humour and his snort which could be an indication of a potential laughter.
She decided to not point it out, which she knew his friends would have done. And she also knew that it would make him put his walls up again and turn into that snob again.
"I'm a vegetarian, but you know whose brain I would not mind eating? Yours!"
Samidha retorted back and Sahaj raised his brows, having real fun talking to her like that. But then his eyes shifted to the motion behind Samidha. Shweta was walking towards them, with a shocked face with a hint of anger and dislike.
"Oh but that's never going to happen, you don't even have a brain!"
Samidha laughed but her laugh fell when she saw Sahaj's expressions return to his usual ones. Uninterested and angry. Sahaj did not stare at Shweta, instead he looked away. But Samidha noticed his expressions changing looking at something behind her.Following his line of gaze, she almost cursed.
Couldn't she come a little later? And without that stupid shocked expressions?
He was a human too and he needed to laugh. And his friends needed to understand that if they don't stop acting this surprised whenever he laughs, smiles or even has a normal talk with anybody, he's gonna put his walls up and continue being the stupid human he has become. But Samidha didn't let her feelings get the best out of her. She still smiled at Shweta, with she returned back with an overly sweet sarcastic one.
"Hey Sahaj!"
He nodded back in acknowledgement and looked back at Samidha.
Samidha didn't hesitate making eye contact with Sahaj and that iriked Shweta more that anything.
"Why don't you come and dance Sahaj?"
Shweta asked, trying to mask her jealousy and Sahaj looked at her in his usual way, with his usual stoic expressions."No thankyou."
"Pleaseeeeeeee."
Shweta asked, blinking her eyes rapidly, trying to look cute and Sahaj found it extremely annoying.Snarling he looked away and found Samidha motioning for him to refuse.
Sahaj raised his brows at her and her eyes widened and she quickly looked away.Sahaj looked back and Shweta was glaring at her and picking on her frock.
He again looked back at Samidha, confused as ever, to find her looking away at nothing particular.
But Shweta continued glaring at her.
"Shweta, why don't you go and dance yourself. I am good here."
He finally answered, taking both Samidha and Shweta's attention. Her expressions changed from murderous to that of a sweet girl in mere seconds.
"But Sahaj-"
"And if you don't want to leave, I'd really appreciate you keeping your mouth sh-..... forget it. Just keep quiet."
Sahaj's rude words caused a frown to appear on Shweta's face. She looked at Samidha, now sure that she hated her because she was certain that a large part of Sahaj telling her to leave was because Samidha told him to do so.Gritting her teeth she stood up, and walked off stomping her feet, not caring if she was being a visible bitch.
All she knew at that moment was, Samidha was trying to do what she couldn't do in all these years. And based on Sahaj's responses, there was a high possibility that she might succeed.
