A/N: Please keep giving me suggestions, my mind is a little blank right now but I love the idea of writing, it has calmed me down during exam season. I'm trying to incorporate some of my own fears in this writing to make it more personal. (1987 words)
Prompt: Char has been giving Reece unofficial therapy sessions every Friday. She has mustered up the courage to ask Mia about her past, who seems to never talk about herself and keep a wall up at all times. Charlotte tries to find a feeling to prod at. They are not dating yet. But definitely like one another.
The two were laying in bed. Mia was resting there, eyes shut but she looked like she was in such a calm state that Char felt guilty to wake her. Charlotte had been awake for ages and was struggling to not wake her up. She was full of energy and wanted to waffle to Mia about anything. Despite the fact that Mia had slept over for the first time and they spent the whole evening together. She missed her. Mia didn't suggest sleeping with Charlotte, and had offered to take the sofa, but Char offered. Charlotte liked that. She had always assumed that Mia was just trying to tick off ulterior motives when she first started flirting with Char at work. Even though Mia came over because Charlotte was feeling a bit lonely and upset, she had thought Mia would exuberate her usual cocky flirting skills. Truthfully, Charlotte didn't know if she would be able to contain herself if that did happen. She liked that they just talked all night, about the divorce, about her kids. A debrief if you will. Charlotte managed to get a lot off her chest, and had tried to sort of encourage Mia to do the same, but all attempts turned to shit. Mia would either divert conversation, or muster up a witty line that would leave Char with a soft pink hue all over her cheeks. She needed to get better at stopping that.
"Miaaaa are you awake yetttt, I miss you. I know you aren't awake but I wish you were so I could give you a kiss." Char sort of mumbled her words, she shocked herself with her own confession. She had always told herself that after her ex-husband she wouldn't catch feelings for anyone. She didn't think it was good for her daughters, and she didn't want to confuse them or even worse, choose someone who didn't want to be associated with them. Her eldest was a harsh critic and would definitely tear into someone if she didn't see them a good match for her mummy.
Mia wanted to let out a chuckle, but decided not to. Mia had just been sitting there eyes shut because she hadn't had such a good nights sleep in months. She felt safe here, it wasn't like her big, empty apartment. Mia was so focussed on being worried about Char and how smoothly last night went, she completely negated the idea her natural charm might work on Charlotte. Mia knew she was attractive. She pulled everyone under the sun. From waiters to her ex-boyfriends sister, but she only wanted Charlotte. Ever since that day she had to cover at the Knight Nursery, she knew Char was the one. She remembered telling Charlotte how 'out of everyone, You're definitely my favourite. You're so cute.' She subconsciously smiled thinking about her sweetheart's response "Well, I'm not being cute for you!"
Mia hadn't mentioned anything about her liking to Charlotte because she didn't know if she reciprocated the same feelings or not. She was still fresh out of a divorce, and Mia understood that whole-heartedly.
Charlotte noticed a smile creeping up on Mia's face, and wondered if the attractive lady had heard her little confession. In a panic she tried to tickle Mia to distract the situation at hand. Why did she even think that would work?
To her slight regret, she found herself basically hovering over Mia's face. her body right on top of Mia's. Oh my God.
Charlotte's waffling defence mechanism had kicked in: "Mia I- I'm so sorry I didn't mean to wake you, I was trying to be quiet but then I had so much energy when I woke up and- and I didn't want to get out of bed and then wake you but then I saw you smile in your sleep and it was~ oh it was just so cute!" If her face wasn't already red. It was crimson now.
