= The work famalam finds out about their engagement. One staff member causes some serious ear damage. The beautiful, three-day weekend had come to an end for Mia and Charlotte. However, the thrill of their recent engagement continued to linger on. Mia didn't really have many close people to tell, other than potentially Autumn and Reece.
Charlotte, on the other hand, was more than excited to let everyone at the nursery know.
It all felt so unreal.
They were destined for one another before they even knew it. Timid, little Charlotte and her complete polar opposite. Mia, who destroyed anything in her path and couldn't care less for anyone's feelings– at surface value at least.
Destiny alone had no chance against the magnetic connection between the two. Even in times of conflict, over the most basic objects such as an inhaler. Mia pushed Charlotte's buttons in just the right way.
Charlotte would never admit it, but she had enjoyed letting Mia push at her buttons. She liked that she was constantly on edge with Mia.
Was she going to be sweet or sour?
The unknown territory interested Char, in her lonely life, there was something to ponder on. She secretly wanted her to push her patience further as they spent more time together.
Mia's mind drifted back to the moment Charlotte had called her to supervise giving Sylvia her inhaler.
Mia had watched as she was in disbelief over what she was saying. Seeing Charlotte so angry admittedly got Mia a little flushed too. Her tone changed, her voice was thicker.
Not the usual soft and captivating tone she had just heard on the landline.
Mia wasn't ever going to refuse a child their inhaler, she knew that, but Charlotte didn't.
And that's when she saw that backbone, poking out. Pleading to be let out. Mia never lied, she could omit truths, but she would never lie, especially not to Charlotte. She was willing to play the villain a little better if it meant that Char found herself.
Mia brought out the devil who lived inside sweet, innocent, Charlotte.
Even when they didn't work together, even when they were continents apart, they still thought of each other constantly.
It was only when Char had reached her breaking point, that she learnt to appreciate the backbone Mia helped her regain.
Here they were in the present day, getting ready, after their lovely lunch out together, to announce to Char's colleagues that they were going to marry one another.
Charlotte quickly rushed to the bathrooms to touch up her makeup a little, despite Mia telling her tenfold that she looked fine, and that she was gorgeous just the way she was.
"So.. what are your bets, sweetheart?"
"Hm?" as she was pouting at the mirror, using her eyelash curler with precision.
"Well, who are you telling first?"
"Well, it's between Marjorie, Carly and Sorscha. It depends who is on shift today if I'm being honest."
"God, please, don't let it be Marjorie... You saw how she reacted with Winter and Autumn. God forbid the reaction you'll receive. That woman hates me, but loves our relationship. Freak."
"Amelia! We discussed this, you two just have your... differences. Plus, telling Marjorie first would mean by the time everyone else knows, she would've maybe calmed down."
