A/N: Feeling inspired after our fav 'Mialotte' writer commented about also needing to see jealous Mia. I feel like this chapter will be easier for me to write than the last one, I had more ideas for this but I don't know how to execute them. Maybe because I resonate with Mia more? Please refrain from reading if possessive nature and alcohol affect you. ( 2372 words)
Prompt: After a strenuous week, the pair decide on going clubbing together. Charlotte has never been clubbing, and is quite excited. However, this was once upon a time, a weekly occurrence for Mia. They are not dating, but definitely will have some unspoken feelings to address after their night out.
Mia, a seasoned club-goer, especially in her twenties, knew the perfect place: to go. A lively gay club in Soho, that promised fun without the typical rowdiness of mainstream spots. Although Mia hadn't told Charlotte this, she didn't want people hitting on Charlotte constantly as you'd usually see in clubs, she also didn't want to start any fights with persistent flirters. She wanted Char's first time clubbing to be memorable. For Charlotte, this was a thrilling first, she had never done this kind of thing before, and her excitement was palpable as they approached the neon-lit entrance.
Inside, the club buzzed with energy. The music pulsed through the air, and the crowd was a vibrant mix of people dancing and chatting. The diversity was also incredible, so many different people of differing backgrounds, identities, the lot of it! This is not what she had expected the interior to look like. Charlotte's eyes widened with wonder, soaking in the scene.
She had expected to feel overstimulated the second she stepped into the scene. She was always interested in the idea of clubbing but never pursued it out of small anxieties like if her social battery would be able to tolerate such a social place. This was so much different, this was an exhilarating feeling to say the least. Tonight was going to be fun.
"This place is amazing!" she shouted over the music, looking toward Mia, her eyes sparkling.
Mia smiled, though a flicker of concern crossed her face. "Just stay close, okay?"
"Okay!" Char noticed that Mia was dressed very nicely today. She does dress quite nicely at work, but she seemed to be glowing in her leather outfits, with a tank top, an all black outfit and accessorised with the most pretty bangles.
Charlotte was worried about making friends, or 'fitting in' but it wasn't long before her natural charm started drawing attention. All sorts of individuals, from gay to straight, men to women, you name it, they approached her, offering drinks. Hitting it off with virtually everyone was great.
One particular lady caught her attention, and she was happily conversing with her. Talking about her divorce in particular as the young lady had a friend also in a similar situation. The common ground had them talking for a substantial amount of time.
There were even instances when Char felt the people around her trying to show romantic interest and engaging her in flirtatious conversation. Charlotte, ever polite and friendly, didn't seem to mind.
Mia did. Each interaction made her chest tighten with an unfamiliar and unwelcome emotion. It was such a new feeling to Mia. She didn't do this whole jealousy stuff. Anyone who she was with knew how hot she was and how she was a catch. She didn't care if people wanted what was hers, she was secure in herself at that much.
Charlotte, however was different. Mia felt her fists clench whenever people had approached her tonight. There were far too many to count. Charlotte was so carefree it was so agitating Mia. Mia wasn't ready to admit that though. To herself, nor Charlotte. She found herself stepping in, making excuses to pull Charlotte away from her admirers.
"Hey, want to dance?" Mia interrupted for the seventh time, placing a hand on Charlotte's arm.
Charlotte frowned slightly but followed Mia to the dance floor. They moved to the music, but Mia's distraction was obvious. Their bodies were moving in perfect synchrony. Fitting together like puzzle pieces. It was kind of hot. If someone was passing by, Mia would pull Char into her chest by firmly placing her hands on Charlotte's waist. Charlotte didn't necessarily read into it much as they danced because if Mia didn't keep her close she would definitely be the type to get lost in the massive crowd. Mia was elsewhere whilst being physically here with her. Her eyes constantly darted around, watching in suspicion for anyone who might approach Charlotte.
