Prompt: Charlotte gets really worried when Georgia (9) has an accident where she falls of her bike at school. Upon seeing medical professionals, she has been told to monitor her daughter for the night for any signs of damage. Mia isn't feeling too good either, but steps in to the rescue. If Char hadn't fallen for Mia yet, she would tonight.

As Marjorie's phone rang in the bustling nursery office, she glanced at the caller ID and frowned. It was the school calling for Charlotte. Why were they calling the office, her workplace? She hesitated for a moment, debating whether to intervene or not. But seeing the confused expression on Charlotte's face as Marjorie confirmed Charlotte was with her as she answered the call, Marjorie knew she had to step in.

"Charlotte, my love, you need to take this call," Marjorie said gently, motioning towards the phone.

Charlotte's heart sank as she listened to the receptionist on the other end of the line. She felt a lump form in her throat as she asked which hospital she needed to go to, her hands trembling as she hung up the phone.

With tears welling in her eyes, Charlotte rushed out of the nursery, her mind racing with worry. She wasn't sure if she was speeding or breaking any traffic rules, but nothing mattered more to her at that moment than getting to her daughter. She couldn't stand the thought of her little baby being upset. Gia wasn't really a baby anymore, but to Charlotte, Georgia was always going to be her little bubby.

When Charlotte arrived at the hospital, she found Lizzie sitting by a crying Georgia in the crowded ward. Liz was bawling her eyes out and Gia had been sniffling, Georgia was a very strong girl, she barely cried. Seeing her so upset made Char want the ground to swallow her whole. She was full of guilt. They were accompanied by one of the teachers, who looked relieved to see Charlotte.

"Thank you so much for staying with them," Charlotte said to the teacher, her voice filled with gratitude. "I'm so sorry I wasn't here sooner."

The teacher nodded understandingly, offering Georgia a gentle pat on the back before leaving them alone. "Get well soon, Gia. We'll call you and do a safeguarding check in at some point ok?"

"Thank you Ms, I will update you on how she is." Charlotte responded for Gia as the poor girl was still shocked at whatever has just occurred.

Charlotte wondered if her ex-husband had been contacted as he was also an emergency contact for the school. She didn't think too much of it because he had mentioned last week that he had been drowning in work because of new clients. She wasn't mad at him, the girls had also iterated how stressed he was, and they only had positive things to say about him. He always took care of them when he had them, even if he was distracted or busy with work he made sure they were ok.

It was time for Charlotte to pull her weight too, she had felt like such an inadequate mother lately, and this was really the cherry on the top. Not being able to be there for her daughter's immediately, and not being able to comfort the two as best as her ex-husband probably could have. With his endless jokes and his ability to hide his fear and upset so much better than Charlotte. Insecurity was seeping through like thick treacle and it just added to Char's stress.
