A/N: Very few got the hints in the last chapter, but here's the real deal! I hope you enjoy x

= Mia drops Char off to work, and tells Marjorie some very, very important news. Alongside being the usual 'button-pusher".

Mia had dropped Charlotte off at work and leaned over to kiss her cheek as she unbuckled her seatbelt. "Have a great shift, sweetheart, call me on your break please." she said with a smile. Charlotte smiled back, her eyes twinkling.

"Thanks, Mia. What are you up to today?"

"Actually, I'm planning to have a meeting with Marjorie, it's a little after you start your shift though, so I can walk you in, but I'll wait in the car for a bit and then go see her." Mia replied casually, watching Charlotte's reaction from the corner of her eye.

"Marjorie?" Charlotte asked, raising an eyebrow. "Why?"

"Well, you know," Mia began, her tone light but sincere, "I want to have a better relationship with her. Since Reece is important to me, Marjorie is automatically important to me too."

Charlotte softened, touched by Mia's effort. "That's really sweet of you."

Mia grinned mischievously. "Plus, she's the only lady at the nurseries that hasn't fancied me. I need to change that."

Charlotte playfully swatted Mia's arm. "You better not," she said, feigning jealousy. "Marjorie wouldn't know how to engage with you the way I do."

Mia laughed, her eyes filled with affection. "Oh, no one could ever compete with you, my darling."

They shared a brief soft kiss before Charlotte got out of the car. She turned back, giving Mia a final smile before heading inside.

Once inside, Charlotte greeted her colleagues and made her way to Marjorie's office. She knocked gently before entering.

"Good morning, Marjorie," she said brightly.

Marjorie looked up from her desk, her warm smile spreading across her face. "Good morning, my love. How are you today?"

"I'm good, thank you. I just wanted to give you a heads-up that Mia wants to talk to you today," Charlotte said, her tone casual.

Marjorie raised an eyebrow. "Oh? About what?"

"She mentioned wanting to strengthen your acquaintance since she and Reece are closer than ever," Charlotte explained. "They've been texting more now than when they were together, according to Mia."

Marjorie nodded, understanding dawning in her eyes. "I see. Well, I'll be sure to let you know how it goes. Have a good shift, my love."

"Thanks, Marjorie," Charlotte said, giving her a quick hug before heading to her workstation.

Shortly after, Mia burst into Marjorie's office, her presence filling the room with energy. She closed the door behind her and took a deep breath.

"Anything said in the next ten minutes, Reece will not hear about until the weekend. Most importantly, Charlotte will NEVER hear what is said in the next ten minutes. Okay, maybe not NEVER but I trust you can keep your gob shut for a few weeks," Mia said, her voice a silent shout.

Marjorie opened her mouth to speak, "I just told Charlotte I would te-"

but Mia cut her off. "I don't give a fuck, Marjorie. She's the love of my life and I'm going to make sure she is for eternity, soon. Understood?"

Marjorie's eyes widened as she realised the gravity of Mia's words. "Wait, Mia, are you saying what I think you're saying?"

Mia nodded, her expression serious. "Yes, I'm going to ask Charlotte to marry me."
