A/N: My bad for the irregular upload schedule. Been busy with personal and work related matters. Still busy, but more organised I suppose. Enjoy!
= Sorscha and Clodagh get a special visit from our favourite couple.
Ever since Marjorie had found out about their engagement, she wouldn't stop pestering poor Charlotte with questions. She would ramble on and on to points where even Autumn would shoot Char a sympathetic look.
Charlotte really didn't mind for the most part; she got to yap about how romantic and thoughtful Mia truly is underneath her dark and mysterious persona. Meanwhile, she got to get out of work because her manager was so invested in their relationship.
Marjorie would now continuously tell everyone around her that she knew before anyone else that Mia was going to propose.
When Mia's sweetheart had informed her of Marjorie's new 'flex,' she simply chuckled. For two women that actively gagged one another with a proliferate amount of insults, they shared a mutual love in Charlotte, and that made them closer than they'd ever like to admit.
It was slowly growing to become a bond that was similar to one of siblings. Endless insults and comebacks among them, but if someone was to say something about Charlotte? The pair would happily tag-team to take them down.
Whoever would have the courage to try and insult Charlotte would get a fistful and an earful.
I think we all know who, out of the manager and the mean redhead would give them which one.
Charlotte found this entire exchange hilarious. She was glad that Mia was allowing herself to be seen in a more delicate and loving light than just 'the mean redhead,' although in reality that nickname was definitely here to stay.
However, it had gotten to the point where it was feeling a little daunting to tell everyone about their engagement, whereby they knew what to tell their nearest and dearest, but those not so close? It was tough. Charlotte secretly wished there was a way to let everyone get up to speed without some of the difficult conversations and questions from parents, but they pursued on anyway, it would all be worth it soon.
Both Charlotte and Mia wanted to focus on what really mattered, such as the planning and finding a suitable venue.
Who better to discuss this with than their married friends Sorscha and Clodagh! They could kill two birds with one stone. Tell them about their engagement, finally, and also get some advice about their own wedding.
Mia had gained some confidence in interacting with Sorscha and Clodagh. Previously, when they had come around, Mia had shied away from conversation, hiding in the kitchen to woo everyone with her cooking skills instead of joining their discussion about motherhood.
Sorscha intimidated her in a way. She couldn't really put her finger on it; maybe it was the fact she was one of Char's first friends when she started work at the nursery? Maybe it was that she had really piercing eyes when she was mad?
Either way, Sorscha had welcomed Mia into her home, despite everything she had heard from everyone, purely because Charlotte loved her and she loved Char. That was all she needed to know, and that was more than touching to Mia.
They arrived at the house, with a gift for baby Quinn too, and Mia proudly rang the doorbell. Which made Charlotte's heart swoon just a little.
Sorscha opened the door, her face lighting up at the sight of her friends. "Ah, there you two are! Come in, come in!"
Clodagh appeared behind her, beaming as she reached out to take the gift bag. "Thank you so much! You didn't have to bring anything."
Mia and Charlotte stepped inside, their hands intertwined. "It's our pleasure," Charlotte said, smiling warmly.
