= Every lady's favourite part of preparing for a wedding was coming up, shopping for their garments of the day.
You could say a substantial number of months had gone past by the time the lovers were finally edging closer towards the day they would become Mrs. and Mrs. Roberts.
Both Mia and Charlotte were quite tired out, the planning had taken so much of their energy; even though some parts like the venue, the invites were finally coming to be finalised. The day itself needed to be perfect. It could be argued that the day being perfect was more Charlotte's concern, since Mia had given her free reign when it came to money, and there was essentially little budget to their wedding thanks to Mia's wealth.
For Mia, the main concern was that her sweetheart had to have the experience of a lifetime. Even though it was her wedding too, in fact her first and last wedding, it didn't bother her too much about how the day went. It would be absolutely perfect for her, as long as it meant having Charlotte by her side for eternity. Little mishaps here and there were guaranteed, for marrying someone is a very large-scale event, but she wanted to keep them as minimal as possible so her lover could finally relax.
The tiredness was a staple for both but the stress was getting to Charlotte a little, it was evident that some of this planning had overwhelmed Char. Not to a tipping point, but definitely not to be at complete ease, like Mia would want her to be right now. The two had even previously discussed how this was going to be smooth sailing and they shouldn't ever get too encased in worries about the day.
Mia had planned today so she could, hopefully, give Char a chance to relax and a chance to let go.
In classic Amelia Robert's fashion, she had made sure Char had left the best till last. Dress shopping!
Our sweethearts had actually solidified their wants and needs about wedding dresses quite early on in their relationship, but it definitely was in a slightly playful manner, so it was time to revisit the conversation.
They found themselves discussing it over dinner last night. Candlelit, as always, but this particular date was overly tender yet flirtatious, it was different.
Charlotte was the first to break the silence. You'd expect silence to be awkward and uncomfortable, nonetheless, for these two, it was quite the opposite.
However, it wasn't complete silence, since Charlotte would often be humming or singing her current favourite songs, and it never failed to make Mia smile.
Amongst all the hustle and bustle, the late nights asleep because they were both so busy, it was a privilege to be so silent with one another.
"Oh Mia, when are we going to sort dresses out, you've been telling me to wait and wait, and that's fine, but we have to sort them out soon!"
Mia brushed Charlotte's hair out of her face and brought her chair closer to her lover. She hated being so far from her, even though she was only a table's width apart.
"Sweetheart, you've been knee deep in all this wedding faff. When I said I'd 'give you the reins' I didn't anticipate you being absolutely exhausted and crazily stressed over it all. Dress shopping till last because that's the most fun, and intimate. I think, at least." She gave her a reassuring kiss on the cheek, causing her face to flush a little.
"I can't wait to be your wife, you do indescribable things to my body and mind. I can't even think normally around you. You... You're so... attentive, you never miss anything. I'm so lucky,"
"I'm always going to be the luckier one, sweetheart..."
Mia's eyes were no longer on Charlotte's. They were taking in her figure, trying to imagine what she would look like in her wedding attire. She knew Char wanted a slightly modest dress, but the redhead couldn't help but let her mind wonder.
