Me and The Curve

TW- There are implications of Self Harm/attempted taking of Ones Own Life

If you are sensitive to this topic I recommend you skip this chapter, it is brief but still could be triggering to some, and I know that it is hard but just know you all are so worth living for and life is a gift to not waste.

HER NAIL TAPPED on the island, her coffee remaining untouched as she stared off into space. The events of last night and the day were staying in her head, and she didn't expect to wake this morning to find herself holding hands with the man who just lost his wife. Why was she doing this?

Maybe he was right last night? Drunk words sober thoughts, he was stating the obvious. She wanted to save who she could, even people like him who didn't want to be saved. A grumble down the hall made her look up from her seat.

She smiled softly.

"Hey..uh how are you feeling?" Josie asks him, he looks up at her, his brown hair messy and sticking up at different ends, but he doesn't answer. She leaned over the counter sliding a smoothie over to him, he furrowed his brows picking it up and examining It.

"What is this?" He asked her, and she smirked. "That is a hangover cure, everything good for you all in one blend." She jokes he picked it up.

Inhaling for a moment drinking the content of it. He sat it down, leaning forward and running his fingers through his unmade hair. His voice was muffled by his arms on the island. He looked up from the counter at her.

"What time is it?" Eddie wonders, she mumbles looking down at her smartwatch. "8:30." She tells him, he swears under his breath.

"If you are worried about your abuela not knowing what happened she does, and according to her Chris is still out like a light," Josie explains to him, he scoffs. "It's not her I'm worried about," Eddie says wiping her face.

"Then what is it?" Josie asks with her brow's raised. He inhaled shaking his head. "Dont worry about it." He stated, and she shrugged her shoulders.

"If you want we...you can go ahead and leave, go see him," Josie suggests. Crossing her arms over her chest. Eddie leaned back on the wall, his eyes closed as he pondered.

"If you want I can drive you over there," Josie says to him, he shrugs his shoulders. "Yeah, that will be good," Eddie tells her, that the dead air between them intoxicated her, not much she could say that wouldn't make it less awkward.

"Uh your shirt and pants, I fold them there on my dresser," Josie tells him, he nod's his head. He sighed deeply turning around and walking down the hall to the left. She shook her head, running her hand through her loose ponytail.
